How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 89% | 83 | 104 |

“There is so much to salute in Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit: the graphics are super cute, and there are lots of different activities to explore. Although I was initially apprehensive about the daily limit, I’ve only craved more fresh content a couple of times so far. I’ll continue stoking the campfire for a while, as I want to know more about each of the adorable ghost bears. Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit comes close to receiving our top ranking. However, struggling to select the right item to harvest or examine, combined with the performance dip on the original Switch, just marred my overall enjoyment.”

“Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit is a gentle reminder that kindness, patience, and small acts of kindness can lead to adventures as memorable as epic quests. It’s not a game that demands constant attention; instead, it can become part of your daily routine, a slow escape you’ll likely return to after your first playthrough.”

“"A Calm and Warm Journey" Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit is more of a successful evolution of the original's formula than a mere reinvention. It offers more extensive content, more relaxed systems, compelling characters and stories, and an excellent art and sound identity, all while maintaining the series' signature laid-back gameplay philosophy. While the real-time system might limit progression, and the strong resemblance to the original game might disappoint those seeking a radically different experience, the quality of execution makes it one of the best choices for fans of cozy and life simulation games.”
