How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“As a player who has been waiting to enter 2D action games for years, but has not been able to throw himself on that side due to unnecessary time extensions and ridiculous save systems, Anomaly Agent seemed like a drug to me. It is also a nice detail that the game that dragged me into this genre came out of the territory of our country. If you're looking for a 2D action game that will put aside a few hours of fun without thinking too much about it and being exposed to ridiculous save systems. Give Anomaly Agent a chance. You can start a rollover on your behalf.”

“With its short playtime filled with well-done gameplay, humor, and execution, Anomaly Agent is worthy of your time to go through, even if there are some lackluster moments you’d come across. I had to seriously sit down and play through whether it provides what it advertises, and I must say it is impressive for a newly established company. However, expectations should not be stretched to the moon as the gameplay does not bring anything new to that table unless you are below the said table, which means go ahead, absolutely try it.”

“It's not a perfect game by any means - the visuals, while beautiful, are simple and they get a bit repetitive especially since the game reuses the same levels over and over as part of the story. The music, I adore synthwave, but it too gets repetitive. But man, that arcade-style brawling just feels so good that I was willing to look past those flaws. If you're feeling nostalgic for those 16-bit brawlers, Agent 70 is here to deliver the digital beatdown.”
