How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 79 | 8 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 90% | 85 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 71% | 68 | 2 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“As a solo game, I admit this one won't endure for me as a series newbie. It's just okay, at best. But if you're a returning player or wish to experience it in co-op, there's positively good fun to be had. You can lose track of time, making all manner of tasty-looking dishes while bobbing your head to the great soundtrack.”

“Following up the previous delectable outing on Switch, CSD3 is back with a new somewhat silly story with your empire having been reduced to rubble and starting over in a food truck...”

“Cook Serve Delicious 3 is a stressful, yet at times relaxing, cooking game. It is so close to being perfect that I can't wait to see what the next iteration brings”

“This is as good as cooking games get. There is a breakneck flow and rhythm to everything players can do in this game that makes it a very nice simulation of how the food industry works behind the scenes and how tense every movement is in a professional food truck. This has the best parts of the previous Cook, Serve, Delicious titles and the addition of the tournament is the bombastic cherry on top.”

“Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a restaurant simulation/arcade game where players are tasked to (you guessed it) cook and serve various meals to the plethora of NPCs that will come knocking. The series first saw the light of day back in 2012 with an initial release on PC via Steam, followed by mobile ports. Players had to wait five years for the first sequel, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2, which released in 2017 once again for PC (via Steam) and also marked the series’ debut on MAC devices.”

“When all is said and done, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! delivers a great addition to the series it continues. While it’s more structured approach may not be what some want, I felt that it is on the whole, a solid improvement. I’ll be listening to Whisk and Cleaver’s banter for many meals to come.”

“As with each title before it, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! gave me that sense of accomplishment and satisfaction of a hard day's work in just a few minutes. For as frantic as things can get on screen, it still feels relaxing to me, being able to keep my mind focused on the task at hand. Who knew that cooking in a fake apocalypse is a good distraction from the real one?”

“With one of the best soundtracks for a game of the genre, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! is an excellent example of how chaos can become relaxing when receiving a gold medal. Despite being an investment that will make you VERY hungry, it will also provide you with dozens of hours of fun, especially if you choose to play with a second person.”

“While CSD3 retains the frenetic pace of its predecessor, there aren't enough new additions to make this an essential update. The huge library of recipes is mightily impressive and the presentation is as good as ever, so if you can handle the crushing difficulty, give your flabby fingers a work out in the back of this mobile food van.”

“Remarkably flexible, frantic, fun and funny, Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3?! serves up a cooking sim that's great value for money, and entirely what you make of it. All the ingredients are there, whether you want to stick to comfort food with very little mental nourishment, or dial up your ambitions with complex culinary masterpieces that must be served to the second. Micro-management skills aside, you're given the freedom to determine how engrossing your experience is.”
