How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 45 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 19 times.

“Overall, Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is a unique and enjoyable title that successfully expands the world of Captain Tsubasa and offers a unique experience from this beloved series by adding new storylines and special moves. While some of the shortcomings in its story and gameplay may not be entirely satisfying, the game is still well worth experiencing, whether you are a new or longtime fan.”

“Mortal Shell II expands upon the ideas of the first game with faster and deeper combat, a larger world, greater customization options, and impressive atmosphere, making it a successful and ambitious sequel. However, the game retains its own distinct identity, and Mortal Shell II could become one of the most notable soulslikes of the new generation.”

“Overall, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is an impressive visual novel that offers a fresh and visually refined way to experience one of the most iconic science-fiction titles in the genre. While the newly added storyline may feel somewhat brief and lack the impact of the original narrative, the strength of the core story remains undeniable. Whether experienced for the first time or revisited by returning fans, this definitive reimagining is highly recommended for anyone interested in exploring one of the medium’s most celebrated works.”

“A remake of Black Flag could deliver the best experience for players through its most defining mechanics, sailing and combat in the pristine Caribbean setting, while also reducing the impact of the weaknesses in its melee combat system and the game's bugs.”

“Reanimal is a delightful, tense, artistic, and unforgettable experience—perfect for players who prefer a relaxed yet unique and immersive journey over pure challenge. Its strikingly distinctive world design pulls you in completely, and despite its ambiguous storytelling, it creates a haunting, hellish setting that lingers in your memory. The only things keeping the game from being truly flawless are its somewhat unsatisfying ending and a few minor technical bugs. Still, these issues are far from significant enough to take away from what is ultimately a beautiful piece of interactive art.”

“Wreckreation is a respectable and brave attempt to revive a style that had long been forgotten. The game succeeds in delivering pure excitement and Burnout-style nostalgia, but its ambitious building mechanics—while innovative—don’t always serve the core racing experience well. Technical issues, physics bugs, and weak AI prevent it from reaching its full potential. It mostly feels like a game held back by a very limited budget, struggling across the board—from the shallow vehicle variety and repetitive activities to deeper technical flaws. Wreckreation is a good game that, with more focus, proper funding, and stronger polish, could have been excellent. As it stands, it’s an enjoyable experience mostly for longtime fans of the genre.”

“In a time when the gaming industry is moving more than ever toward standardization, homogenization, and excessive player guidance, a title like Hell Is Us emerges as a point of resistance on a map filled with predetermined paths. Developed by Rogue Factor and directed by Jonathan Jacques-Belletête — the artist previously known for his work on Deus Ex: Human Revolution — the game seeks to push the player out of their comfort zone and release them into a world with no map, no guiding markers, and none of the conventional waypoint systems. It’s a real pity that this distinctive game, due to the sudden and successful release of the new Hollow Knight: Silksong, failed to capture the attention of the market and audience as it deserved.”

“Cronos: The New Dawn is one of the most complete, creative, and thrilling games of this year, and without a doubt, one of the best horror games of this generation. It hasn’t come just to announce its presence; it’s here to push the genre forward, add new elements to it, and prove that there’s still room for creativity and fresh ideas in survival horror. Cronos plants a new kind of fear in your heart and makes sure you’re glued to your seat.”

“Overall, Elden Ring: Nightreign offers a fresh and different experience for fans of this beloved title and the roguelike genre, with a strong focus on co-op gameplay and fast-paced progression. While it might not appeal as much to newer or less experienced players, it will no doubt keep dedicated fans of online co-op games, Elden Ring, and the Souls series entertained for hours.”

“Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is a top-tier fighting game with engaging single-player content and solid online modes like Rank and Casual Match. It features 17 unique characters (with 5 more coming for free), impressive graphics, and extra features like Jukebox and Color Edit. While nearly perfect, it’s held back slightly by minor graphical issues and a weak tutorial section.”

“For now, the launch of Civilization VII offers a game with an exceptionally high-quality core, stunning graphics, and an outstanding soundtrack. While it may not yet fully meet the expectations of the new generation of the series, it lays a strong foundation for exciting possibilities ahead.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 remains as entertaining as ever with its strong content in single-player, multiplayer, and Zombies modes. Although this installment doesn’t introduce any bold new elements to the series, it must be acknowledged that it has largely managed to erase the bitter aftertaste left by the weak remakes of Modern Warfare 2 and 3, paving a hopeful path for the future of this beloved series.”
