How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is far from being called the best installment in the series, but neither can it be considered the worst or even bad. It's a solid FPS that you can have a great time with, but it's important to remember that it's not a perfect product, and its flaws are noticeable. The story campaign is beautifully crafted, detailed and offers plenty of great fun, while the story leaves much to be desired. The zombie mode is enjoyable, although the game lacks a larger number of maps here. The multiplayer mode, on the other hand, has reawakened in me the desire to play match after match. However, by the same token, we don't have many innovations here, and the maps are a little bit worse from those of previous installments.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 restores hope in the franchise. Game studios Treyarch and Raven Software continue what the 2020 title Cold War started. With a story campaign that offers an absolutely brilliant level composition, while enriching it with excellent shooting dynamics and a new motion omnimovement system. The latter translates beautifully to the multiplayer, which of course could have done with some work on the new game modes, as well as the Zombies mode, which is repairing its reputation. This is simply good Call of Duty.”

“Call of Duty Black Ops 6 turned out to be a very pleasant surprise in 2024. This is the first game of the series in recent years, which was developed thoroughly and expertly. As a result - the output is a really strong shooter.”

“To my surprise, the new Call of Duty, subtitled Black Ops 6, has managed to take a huge step forward from its predecessor and improve, in many ways, precisely those aspects that the developers have literally neglected in recent years. The biggest change is definitely the single-player campaign, which has grown not only in length but also in the quality of its content. While it still doesn’t offer any revolutionary or intricate mechanics, it’s clear that the developers really put in the effort this time, and the campaign isn’t a bad experience at all. However, for a price tag of 70 euros, it’s still relatively lacking, and the multiplayer remains the main draw, it’s still one of the series’ strongest points. Nevertheless, I can recommend Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to those who have already given up on this franchise and had no hope for a positive turnaround. It might not be a bad idea to return to the world of Call of Duty after some time and give the series another chance. I think that, combined with a small discount, say, a price of 50 euros, it would be worth considering. Six and a half out of ten.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, although not without its faults, is far and away the best Call of Duty game to release in almost a decade.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is fundamentally a fun game, despite the fact that the series is becoming very ‘’samey’’, especially if you are a ‘’multiplayer only’’ player. Its espionage-like campaign is certainly fun and ridiculous at times, with some questionable decisions and great level design, but it still doesn’t pose as something remarkably innovative in its final product.”

“Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is a true return to form for Treyarch and a great showpiece for Raven Software.”

“Black Ops 6 is a good Call of Duty game. It's neither revolutionary nor perfect, but it manages to be convincing enough in almost every aspect: it has a good single player campaign that lacks a bit of depth and the Zombies mode is fun for a few hours, although its maps get boring quickly. PvP is the main deal as always: the real game changer is the all-new Omnimovement system, which allows for more lively and frenetic battles and represents a new beginning for the Call of Duty franchise as a whole.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 delivers a compelling spy thriller with polished gameplay, standout missions, and engaging characters like Russell Adler. While some frustrating moments and missed innovations hold it back, it successfully blends nostalgia and fresh ideas, making it a solid entry in the series.”

“Set in a world of conspiracies and bioterrorism, Black Ops 6's campaign introduces new characters and unexpected narrative layers while revisiting familiar elements fans love. The gameplay merges classic, Call of Duty action with new omnidirectional movement mechanics, refining IW's earlier experiments in open-ended mission approaches.”

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn’t going to win awards for its narrative, but honestly, that’s something almost no one expects from a Call of Duty anymore. Where it truly shines is in its gameplay: the multiplayer is frenetic and fun, the Zombies mode recaptures the magic of the classics, and the campaign, while short, at least keeps you entertained. The graphics are spectacular, the maps are highly detailed, and the audio design continues to meet the high standards expected from the series. If you’re looking for the best Call of Duty in recent years, Black Ops 6 is a safe bet. And the best part is that with post-launch updates, it can only get better. Personally, I’ll keep jumping into the multiplayer from time to time, and with the first season and ranked matches just around the corner, things are looking promising. So, if you’re in the mood to shoot some rounds and have a great time, Black Ops 6 is the game you’re looking for.”
