How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 79 | 11 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 94% | 89 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 76 | 5 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 100% | 97 | 1 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Timelie is a fantastic game that is close to faultless. Despite the strict preciseness needed for some actions, this is the perfect game to introduce several mechanics found in puzzle, stealth, and adventure games. The art style and soundtrack are sublime.”

“Timelie is a complex, stealth-driven puzzle game that doesn’t just use its time mechanics as a gimmick, it integrates this into the very core of its gameplay.”

“A few frustrating puzzles aren't enough to drag down a fantastic puzzler buoyed by lovely graphics and near flawless gameplay.”

“While time manipulation puzzling has been done before in the indie space, there’s an element of visual polish and flair that helps Timelie stand out nicely...”

“It’s polished. It has interesting gameplay mechanics. And it is priced right. What’s not to like?”

“A time-bending puzzle game clever enough not to be just another time-bending puzzle game.”

“I would recommend Timelie to anyone who might find this type of experimental time-manipulation gameplay interesting but certainly not for its storytelling.”

“Timelie is a unique and beautiful puzzler with polished controls, but obtuse puzzle logic and overall slow speed take a little sheen off of what is otherwise a solid entry in the genre.”

“The best thing about Timelie is the mechanism that allows you to see the future. There have been plenty of time manipulating mechanisms from various games in the past but it’s one of a kind to be implemented in a puzzle environment. The solid foundation of the story also backs up the quality of the game. Not only have they focused on the mechanisms that sugarcoat the genre, but also the element of storytelling is one of the finest out there.”

“Timelie offers a unique experience and is an impressive piece of work considering it is Urnique Studios' first major release. Much like Braid or Celeste before it, it would not be surprising if Timelie became an extremely important and talked about indie title for a lot of gamers. Anyone who enjoys indie games or puzzles should buy a copy of Timelie as soon as possible.”

“Timelie could be entertaining if you don't mind repetitive gameplay, but it's definitely not a good choice for everyone..”

“Hampering your progress are mechanical enemies that patrol the level, coloured doors that need to be opened with the right keypad or pressure pad, broken bridges that can be repaired with the girls power and even some levels that disappear as you make your way through them.”
