How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| All-time Steam reviews | 90% | 84 | 265 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 88% | 82 | 138 |

“Coridden offers a unique blend of shapeshifting mechanics, engaging combat, and co-op fun that sets it apart from other action RPGs. While it’s not without its flaws, the game’s creativity and charm more than make up for its rough edges. Whether you’re a fan of classic ARPGs or just looking for something new to play with friends, Coridden is worth checking out. With a strong foundation already in place, there’s plenty of room for Coridden to grow. Future updates could easily elevate this game from a hidden gem to a must-play co-op experience. For now, grab your friends, embrace your inner beast, and get ready for an unforgettable adventure.”

“So, what can I say in conclusion? Coridden is a refreshing and ambitious action RPG that creatively combines combat dynamics with tactical elements of transformation and cooperation. It offers an exceptionally fun co-op mode, pleasant visuals, and solid technical execution that will delight fans of the genre in particular. Although the story isn’t the main draw, the world feels vibrant and encourages exploration and continued play. The developers clearly knew what they wanted to create and delivered a game with a distinct visual style and gameplay identity. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s charming and unique enough to delight any RPG fan.”

“Despite some tech issues and not having the most memorable plot, Coridden’s gameplay is so much fun that I didn’t care. While flying solo in the game can be a bit tough at times, its still a blast and even better when you team up with a few friends. I hope to see more from Aftnareld in the future as they crafted a fun and unique adventure here.”

“Coridden introduces deep customization and fast and exciting combat through it's shapeshifting mechanics. Despite lack of polish in some areas, it also offers a fun experience for players looking to try a new ARPG.”

“Coridden is a fun game with an interesting premise, but playing solo just makes you feel like you're missing the full experience.”

“It takes a monster to destroy a monster, and you'll love the ability to transform in this action RPG. Graphically, the game is worse, but the gameplay is excellent.”

“Coridden is quite simply one of the coolest concepts I've played in absolutely ages, and as a big fan of co-op games, is immensely refreshing. I adore this game, and I really hope we get more from this from the team at Aftnareld to shows off more of what they can do, because their first attempt is a triumph of ingenuity.”

“Overall, Coridden is a unique cooperative action adventure with plenty to enjoy. It includes some great ideas executed well, and the inclusion of 4-player combat and campaigning in a succinctly told story is a breath of fresh air from the battle pass laden, constantly pushed DLC blockbusters that dominate the genre landscape Coridden rides into.”

“The ability to transform into unique, fully fleshed-out monsters with their own skill trees and abilities makes the gameplay of Coridden feel fresh and exciting. With up to four-player co-op, this ARPG is worth giving a try, either alone or with friends.”

“Coridden is a decent action role-playing game, introducing some new gameplay mechanics for RPG fans to experience. The multiplayer is particularly well executed. It's a great alternative for individuals who enjoy working in collaboration with friends.”

“Coridden succeeds in combining familiar elements of action RPGs with refreshing new ideas. The shapeshifting mechanic, the co-op mode and the free progression system make it a unique experience that stands out from other titles in the genre. It is a pity that the quests are so incredibly repetitive, which is a nice blemish on the otherwise excellent gameplay. If the developer releases a patch that further optimizes things and makes the map a lot clearer, then this is a title that is definitely worth playing for fans of action RPGs. Because whether you play solo or together with friends, Coridden takes you on a beautiful adventure where you have a lot of freedom to play the way you want.”

“Coridden is without a doubt a complete hidden gem. It has a unique feel overall that I can’t say I’ve felt with others in the genre. I really feel that character build choices will only affect how I approach different situations rather than holding me back. For it’s highly accessible build customization, emphasis on player cooperation and synergy, and downright innovative gameplay mechanics this is a game not to sleep on. Be sure to check it out, with a humble price point I may add, over on Steam or GOG today. It would be a crime not to, and so I award Coridden the Thumb Culture Platinum Award.”
