Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

    “Yet Another Zombie Survivors is a great game because it understands the pleasures of simplicity. There’s no need for grand ambitions, sprawling worlds, or a dozen systems fighting for the player’s attention. Instead, here’s a bunch of zombie-apocalypse hero archetypes, an absurd number of zombies, some increasingly ridiculous weapons, and a handful of upgrades. Done. And everybody’s happy. This survivor-like knows exactly what it wants to be, doubles (and triples) down on it, and simply lets you have fun.”

    “While Yet Another Zombie Survivors doesn’t do much to reinvent the Bullet Heaven formula, it still offers something unique thanks to its memorable cast of characters and charming, comic-book-inspired style. The progression can become a grind, and genre veterans may not find many surprises. Still, for fans looking for a polished and personality-filled entry in the genre, it’s an easy recommendation.”

    “Yet Another Zombie Survivors reaches 1.0 without reinventing the bullet heaven formula, but its three-character squad gives it enough personality to stand apart. Team synergies and a generous progression system keep experimentation rewarding, while Bio Lab and Boss Rush add welcome variations to the usual loop. Repetition eventually sets in, some builds clearly outperform others, and the visual identity remains fairly generic. A solid and surprisingly layered survivor that does not always make the most of all the options it puts on the table.”
