How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 16 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 0 times.

Outlet vs. players
Each dot is a game both this outlet and players scored. The dashed line is perfect agreement: dots above it mean the outlet was more generous than players, below it more harsh.

- 85Onimusha: Way of the SwordAug 31, 2026
“The return of Onimusha coincides with the release of a chapter that looks to the present without forgetting its roots. Way of the Sword undoubtedly modernizes the formula, expands exploration, and builds around Issen a combat system that is as spectacular as it is demanding, one that rewards timing, precision, and a cool head above all. A few shortcomings in the AI and a camera that is not always flawless prevent the game from reaching absolute excellence, but they do not change the bottom line: Capcom has succeeded in bringing one of its most fascinating series back to life without compromising what made it special. And after an absence spanning two console generations, that was by no means a foregone conclusion. ”

“Ladies and gentlemen, without mincing words or beating around the bush, The Blood of Dawnwalker is simply a great video game. Rebel Wolves hits the mark perfectly and delivers a debut that confidently enters the club of the best action RPGs on the market. Never predictable and capable of breathing new life — or rather, new blood — into the vampire mythos, The Blood of Dawnwalker offers adrenaline-fueled combat, deep and customizable character progression, solid technical performance, and an interesting story capable of engaging the player, also thanks to the possibility of making choices that have a real impact on events. Sure, some elements could have used a little more polish, and some mechanics can feel cumbersome, but that doesn't change the fact that Coen's adventures will entertain you and keep you glued to your controller. The Blood of Dawnwalker is one of the biggest and most interesting surprises the 2026 gaming year could have given us.”

“Yet Another Zombie Survivors reaches 1.0 without reinventing the bullet heaven formula, but its three-character squad gives it enough personality to stand apart. Team synergies and a generous progression system keep experimentation rewarding, while Bio Lab and Boss Rush add welcome variations to the usual loop. Repetition eventually sets in, some builds clearly outperform others, and the visual identity remains fairly generic. A solid and surprisingly layered survivor that does not always make the most of all the options it puts on the table.”

“Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy represents one of Asobo Studio’s boldest gambles. It is not simply the third chapter in the saga. It is not Requiem 2. Above all, it does not attempt to replicate Amicia and Hugo with different characters. It is a new starting point. Sophia changes the pace of the experience, combat radically transforms the gameplay, the Greek-Mediterranean setting gives Asobo completely new material to work with, and the mythological component further expands the series’ narrative universe. The risks, however, are just as evident: some mechanics feel less original, the puzzles can disrupt the pacing, and moving away from certain iconic elements could alienate those who primarily loved the stealth-focused gameplay and distinctive atmosphere of the first two chapters. But perhaps that is precisely the point of Resonance. Asobo does not want to repeat A Plague Tale. It wants to find out how far it can push the series. We can say this having played it ourselves: the direction it has taken is surprisingly solid. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy seems determined to prove that a series does not necessarily have to remain static in order to stay true to itself. Asobo has taken what worked, questioned what risked becoming repetitive, and built around Sophia an experience that suits her perfectly—a more vertical game, and one closer to the grand cinematic action-adventures. It may not be the Plague Tale that fans were expecting, but perhaps that is exactly why it could be the one the series needed.”

“Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters is a game clearly designed for fans, and it is not particularly well-suited to soccer enthusiasts who demand technical depth. A few extra single-player modes wouldn't have gone amiss, perhaps, but if the title manages to sustain interest through its online component, that absence might prove to be a bittersweet trade-off.”

“Twisted Towers' biggest drawback is the comparison invited by its creators—a comparison against games that are, in reality, light-years ahead. Take Twisted Towers for what it is: a simple, fun game that lets you spend a few carefree afternoons playing a "Boomer Shooter." Just forget the bold comparisons; *BioShock* is on another planet.”

“Mortal Shell 2 seems to be built for those who enjoyed the oppressive atmosphere and brutal combat of the first game but longed for greater depth. It retains the weight of the combat, the enigmatic narrative, and the punishing philosophy typical of the series, while expanding progression, situational variety, and freedom of action. It doesn't simply try to imitate Dark Souls or Elden Ring: it takes many ideas from classic Souls-like games, but continues to forge its own identity based on the harshness of the combat, the strategic use of Shells, and a world that feels more alive and independent than its predecessor. Let's sum it all up: do you like Souls? Buy it.”

“Mistfall Hunter nails the hardest part: turning extraction into a convincing action RPG. Strong classes, satisfying melee combat and tense PvPvE encounters make it easy to enjoy, but its generous progression systems soften the fear of losing too much. A solid, accessible extraction game that sometimes protects the player a little too well. ”

“Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls is a great game, but definitely not a perfect one. While it delivers plenty of excitement, offers a wide range of options for both single-player and multiplayer, and clearly shows a great deal of attention to many aspects, it still feels somewhat underdeveloped—both in terms of balance, but above all in the chaotic way it handles on-screen battles.”

“Emma's journey in Beast of Reincarnation is an interesting metaphor on the value of feelings, unfortunately it is supported by a gameplay that is not very deep or layered, generic and uninspired maps and enemies that always reappear without a minimum of variation (bosses included). ”

“CULTIC is a true love letter to classic shooters: fierce, bloody, and insanely fun, it captures the spirit of the great '90s FPS games while adding a crushing horror atmosphere and razor-sharp gameplay that keeps you glued to the screen from start to finish.”

“Denshattack! is much more than a bizarre idea turned into a video game—it's a project made with considerable care, capable of taking familiar concepts and reinterpreting them in an original way. A few narrative shortcomings and a certain repetitiveness over the long haul don't stop this production from standing out as one of the most interesting arcade surprises of 2026. For fans of games built around speed, combos, and the pursuit of the perfect run, it's a journey well worth taking. ”

“Splatoon Raiders successfully takes the series in a bold new direction without losing sight of what made it special. Its single-player adventure remains engaging from start to finish, with only the endgame showing a few rough edges that could be smoothed out through future updates. Splatoon fans, as well as players looking for a more unconventional take on the looter shooter formula, will find an accessible and compelling experience here. The foundations for a strong new spin-off series are all in place. Now it's up to Nintendo to build on them in the months ahead.”

“Rhythm Paradise Groove doesn't reinvent the series, but it doesn't need to. It's another excellent rhythm game on Switch, offering hours of lighthearted fun while putting your sense of timing to the test. A polished, budget-friendly package that will appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Another evergreen addition to Nintendo's already outstanding hybrid console library. ”
