Review sentiment over time

How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Sticky Business is a simple management simulator focusing on time and resource management. The game is tailored to casual players and offers simple gameplay. It is likely that many players will reject it at the very beginning, while the rest will be attracted by the charming graphics, gradual unlocking of new things and the ability to design stickers.

Sticky Business is really a calming video game, no matter how you play it. There is no rushing or challenge of any sort, and the only thing you will be doing is creating some cool stickers, printing them, and shipping them off to buyers. On the wholeness scale, Sticky Business easily sits at the top. It features calming music, and the gameplay is pretty cool. The UI is simple to understand, and once you have spent some time with it, you can quickly move around the screen without any trouble. If you have always wanted to run your very own sticker shop business, Sticky Business is the best way to do it, and on the Nintendo Switch, it just sits perfectly well because it is the perfect game to wind down on the go after a hectic day.

Sticky Business is genuinely a perfect outlet. While the sticker part options are a bit restricted and I hope DLC or updates add to the library, it’s such a relaxing time sink. I had so much fun setting things up just so, knowing that no matter how it looked my virtual customers would love it. It’s quite a relaxing and validating experience.

While there is not much in the way of gameplay, Sticky Business brings out the joy of being able to freely create.

Sticky Business is a cute and creative take on the desktop simulator genre, allowing players to get out their best ideas using pre-made stickers. The game is as cute as it looks and its ability to run so well creates such an adorable experience that’s really easy to lose yourself in. While it’s pretty shallow, it’s also exactly what it promises to be and does a good job of doing it.

Sticky Business is a nice idea, and for a few hours, we’ve had a great time creating our own stickers and sending out orders. But if you’re the creative sort, you’ll feel much more fulfilled by doodling your own tangible designs, or opening up Photoshop to create something you can admire in the real world. As a game, there’s just not enough sense of meaningful progression to keep us engaged in the long term, but we did enjoy hearing our customers’ stories, at least.

The Switch version of Sticky Business is less of a game, and more of a very clunky and shallow creative tool with not a lot to entice players for long. The progression system is silly, the gameplay loop lacks any kind of excitemente, and the controls and interface are embarassingly bad, never taking advantage of the Switch’s touchscreen, or even giving us the bare minimum of a completely cursor-based interface.

I’d describe Sticky Business as a wholesome game. It looks like one, and it plays like one. It’s lovely for there to be no violence, no conflict, just stickers and stories. It’s not a terribly long game (it took about ten hours to get all the Steam achievements), but it was super fun and exactly what the marketing promised. I’d love to see it on Nintendo Switch, but that’s mostly because I want everything I love to be available on that platform. The sticker design and packaging processes were almost soothing, and I oddly did love trying to fit as many stickers onto a page as possible. If you’re in the market for an innovative cozy game idea, Sticky Business just might scratch that itch.

In Sticky Business you will be able to create your own online store selling stickers in a nice, sweet and relaxed game, which could be much better if it encouraged the player's creativity to keep improving and creating stickers.
