How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“One-Eyed Likho from Morteshka Studio appears to be a masterfully crafted horror adventure game that sets itself apart from mainstream titles with its original approach to the subject matter and its visual style. One-Eyed Likho isn’t for everyone. It’s a game for patient players who appreciate a slow pace, a deep story, and the chance to immerse themselves in a world that’s as beautiful as it is terrifying. For fans of folklore horror, Slavic mythology, and imaginative visual styles, however, One-Eyed Likho is an absolute must-play. Studio Morteshka proves once again that smaller teams, with a grand vision and a love for detail, can create unforgettable game worlds. Dive into the darkness and try to escape your fate. But remember, Likho has only one eye, and it’s watching you with relentless attention.”

“If you’re looking for something action-packed or traditionally scary, this isn’t it. But if you like games that feel like falling into a dark, ancient fairytale, something strange, cerebral, and a little off-kilter, then there’s a lot here to love.”

“One-Eyed Likho is a fascinating, surreal, and almost hypnotic experience. The strong visual style and artistic direction of the game make it a truly enthralling title to behold. While the puzzles and overall gameplay are a bit lacking in terms of crafting an engaging or exciting adventure, the atmospheric elements are unmatched.”

“One-Eyed Likho belongs in that rare category of games that take such a dark narrative and setting and manage to infuse it all with a surrealism that often verges on the comic. Even the epic conclusion of the story raised a smile at its presentation and effect. While not a long game and one that follows a very linear path, there are more moments and images here that will stay in your memory than many far longer games can muster.”

“I wish One-Eyed Likho leaned a little more into the horror aspect of things. Such as more attempts at scaring the player. But overall, the story telling was excellent and did really well with keeping my attention. Especially with the tales and puzzles within the game. I had some minor frame drops when entering a new area of the Refectory. But nothing that ruins the experience. Puzzles are fun and don’t require you to know all the world’s knowledge. Smith and Tailor are enjoyable as characters, and Morteshka has done a great job of bringing them to life. One-Eyed Likho deserves the Thumb Culture Gold Award for successfully breathing life into an old tale. I would have given it a platinum, but as I already mentioned, I wished there was a little more horror. Since that’s what grabbed my attention when playing the demo.”

“One-Eyed Likho is a gorgeously woven web of Slavic folktales that will haunt you long after you complete the story.”
