How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Press reviews (Metacritic) | – | – | 0 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 91% | 85 | 393 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 93% | 88 | 671 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Boasting a mix of gardening sim and organizational elements, Urban Jungle has potential, but also feels like it loses the thread of its appeal in some regards”

“A relaxing little journey that feels warm, thoughtful and quietly satisfying. Urban Jungle is a genuinely cozy experience that I enjoyed spending time with. The gentle decorating gameplay, soft visuals, and small heartfelt moments from Ayta’s life create a calm and comforting atmosphere from start to finish. A few minor frustrations with precision placement and the limited settings do show through, but they never overshadow the relaxing feel of the game. It’s a peaceful way to unwind and get creative for a few hours.”

“This game is perfect for relaxing. The ability to interact with most of the things in the rooms allows for a high level of customization in each level. The puzzle aspect is easy and encourages trying to get a higher score - with all of the Steam achievements being easily achievable. I highly recommend Urban Jungle to anyone who enjoys decorating games and simple puzzle games!”

“I truly enjoyed Urban Jungle. I played it through twice in two days. To explore every nook and cranny of what this game had to offer took me 3 hours and there is a lot of replayability. Although the levels don’t change, the plant availability that you are served each “round” changes creating different placement scenarios.”

“Overall, Urban Jungle brilliantly combines simulation and storytelling, offering a calming escape for players. With its engaging mechanics and colorful environments, the game may just showcase a love for plants and nature and show off the subtle yet complex dynamics between the characters. It's still well worth the four hours of playing, although the soundtrack can be a little repetitive.”

“If you are someone who enjoys relaxing puzzle games, who loves plants or just enjoys decorating cute spaces, Urban Jungle is a real gem. Its gameplay is simple and charming, yet still keeps you engaged. The story and character development are fun to follow, the visuals are adorable, and the vibes are just there. Plus, you can pet a cute orange cat! What more could you want? Since I am unable to give the game a “Green Thumb” Award, Urban Jungle will instead receive the Thumb Culture Gold Award.”

“This is a game that understands the quiet joy of creating a space that feels like home. It speaks to the experience of those who have ever had their passions dismissed as “just a hobby” and finds beauty in the act of carving out a place for yourself, even when others don’t understand why. The plant placement mechanics are satisfying, the aesthetic is charming, and the game exudes a warmth that makes it easy to sink into.”
