How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“PowerWash Simulator 2 probably doesn’t need to exist. FuturLab could have released DLC packs for the original PowerWash Simulator and players would have been fairly happy. But the small additions, system changes, and overall size of the game do justify the sequel existing. While the changes probably aren’t enough to allure someone who wasn’t already interested in power washing, players who do Want More Water will be thrilled with what is inside.”

“Cosy games really don’t get much better than PowerWash Simulator 2. The premise is perfect, the execution is simple but inspired, and the satisfaction of clearing away grime never gets old. There’s some fairly expansive level variety on offer despite the one-note formula, and the inclusion of split-screen multiplayer sweetens the deal even further. If you fancy some simple, turn-off-your-brain fun at the end of a long day (or can’t get enough of your real-life chores), PowerWash Simulator 2 is for you.”

“Just like the original, PowerWash Simulator 2 is an absorbing game with an endlessly calming loop of joyful pressure washing. It’s easy to get sucked into it and see hours wash away. It’s an iterative sequel, with plenty of neat improvements and additions, but one that doesn’t stray far from the tried and tested formula. It looks great in action, and while some bugs can get in the way of enjoyment, PowerWash Simulator 2 is very easy to recommend.”

“Power Wash Simulator 2 isn't a completely new thing in comparison to its predecessor and I'm pretty sure all fans of the first game, including myself, would have been disappointed if it would've been. The new tools and adjustments definitely make the gameplay much smoother, the split-screen co-op is the best new feature for me personally and the feeling of zen I get while cleaning is something I haven't found in any other game to this day.”

“The first Powerwash Simulator was my guilty pleasure. I spent many hours playing it on the Nintendo Switch. I was so hooked that it almost convinced me that such a job would be something for me in real life. Until I borrowed my in-laws' pressure washer and realized that the simulation is more fun after all. Fortunately, the game now has a formidable successor. The fun of Powerwash Simulator 2 lies in the simplicity of the game. This game is surprisingly satisfying and, above all, a great way to relax. Unfortunately, the sequel is not available on “older consoles” such as the first Nintendo Switch. That's a shame.”

“PowerWash Simulator 2 is a refinement of a modern comfort classic. Every addition, from the home base to the abseiling harness, feels thoughtfully designed to deepen the relaxation loop rather than distract. It’s bigger and cleaner, but still surprisingly heartfelt. If the first game helped us survive the chaos of 2022, this one feels perfectly timed to help us slow down again in 2025.”

“PowerWash Simulator 2 is an all you can eat buffet of power washing greatness. Whilst the sequel is essentially 'the same, but more of it' and adds incremental upgrades, what's here is more than enough to satiate any fan of the first game and, whilst big jobs can look and seem overwhelming, the sense of satisfaction of a job very much well done still gives you a feeling unlike any other series around.”
