How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Consistent with the kid-oriented license, this is a pretty care-free platformer with a little strategy and plenty of silly charm

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is a charming game that perfectly captures the essence of the book series. With its humorous style, varied level design and lovable characters, it is aimed primarily at fans of the comics and younger players. However, adults looking for an easily accessible and entertaining adventure will also find what they are looking for here. Despite minor weaknesses - such as the occasional camera problems, the somewhat simple story or the sluggishness of the movements - the game impresses with its fresh approach and lovingly designed comic style.

At the price, it's hard to recommend Dog Man: Mission Impawsible to anyone but the utmost devoted fans of the books. Everyone else is better off hunting for something else to play.

The Dog Man franchise seems a fun and far-reaching thing, but this particular video game entry in its overall franchise feels a tad overpriced, and the basic game play and jaunty music just cannot make up for that fiscal discrepancy. Absolutely wait for a sale on this one, if it is a game that you feel you must play.

Dog Man: Impawsible Mission is a light and breezy platformer that will keep fans of the books happy for a number of hours. However, parents might need to be on hand to get past some of the trickier sections.

Those acquainted with the books will enjoy the familiar characters and references in Dog Man: Mission Impawsible. However, you don’t need any prior knowledge of the Supa Buddies to enjoy this bright, humorous and colourful platformer.

Still, you can say that Dog Man is a great platformer that is especially unique because of the change between the three playable characters. It never really gets difficult and challenging, but for younger players it will be quite a job to complete the game. In total, the game offers about 8 hours of content, which is certainly not bad. Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is certainly not the best platformer of the year, with Astro Bot as the highlight in 2024, but it is a very solid, well-developed platformer that can be entertaining for both young and old.

Based on the popular graphic novel series, Dog Man: Mission Impawsible puts players in control of the part-human, part-dog superhero along with his friends. This puzzle-platformer lacks level-to-level variety, however, making it a bit of a slog despite the acquisition of some nifty gadgets along the way.

Dav Pilkey’s world of Dog Man has been recreated lovingly. I’m sure he would be proud of the game. Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is platforming at its best. It’s also a lot of fun to play through. I’ve spent a few evenings playing the game along with the TC Mini Crew and it’s given me an experience that can’t be replaced. Those core memories will live with me for a lifetime. Dog Man: Mission Impawsible receives the Thumb Culture Gold Award.

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible may be a more childish title, but it is still an interesting adventure for those who want a platform game that is not too complex and even want a gateway to get to know Dog Man and his stories. The charisma of Dav Pilkey's universe was very well translated and manages to be as funny as the books.

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is a fantastic little title if you want to sit down on the couch and just immerse yourself into a great little side scroller. I’ve been getting more and more into my handheld gaming and this was a great little title that kept me amused for a good amount of time over the holiday season.
