How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

While Spiral Splatter is hardly going to take the Switch by storm that isn’t to say it’s a bad game. While I’d consider its appeal likely to be niche everything looks good, the level design is sound, and though it is humble everything works quite well. If you like testing your core skills and can deal with some aggravation it may not be a bad bet. At the low, low cost of admission it might be a good game to kick around to cleanse the palate between other meatier titles.

Spiral Splatter is a puzzle game with a simple concept: you control a white orb and guide it towards the goal. It starts off easy enough but soon tests your accuracy, dexterity and above all: endurance.

Spiral Splatter is your typical smartphone port, visually simple, light on content and lacking some features in the move to Switch. While the core idea works, everything else about the game feels uninspired resulting in an experience that’s fine for an hour or two but likely forgotten the moment you move onto greener pastures.

This game is definitely one for the puzzle lovers. It’s really hard to find puzzle games where the developer for whatever reason didn’t get lazy and just reuse existing puzzles and just add more difficulty to them. What surprised me most about this title and that each level being unique and having a natural difficulty is that is was all created by a one man team. That is mind-blowing to me that this one man was able to take the time willingly to come up with not 25, not 75 but 100 unique levels and found a way to make the difficulty progression feel natural.

Spiral Splatter is a fun little puzzle game which will leave you both frustrated and satisfied once you have achieved all three stars on each of the levels. It isn't a long game and can be completed within a few hours, or less if you resort to looking up a guide online, however, I advise you to not bother doing that, just play the game and enjoy it for yourself, it's all about trial and error and getting used to the controls.

Functional, visually pleasing but infuriating, Spiral Splatter is decisive and not everyone's Chai Latté

Spiral Splatter is an infuriating game. You want to cross the level without boosting? Impossible? Using boosting? Possible, but just. Impossible difficulty of the game may be a feat for some, but will be a turn off for most.

Spiral Splatter is a very addictive minimalist puzzle game on Nintendo Switch I highly recommend you get. There is more than enough content in this one for its $4.99 asking price, and it's solid difficulty curve will keep challenging you whole never feeling frustratingly overwhelming.
