This reviewer publishes verdicts, not numbers, so trust comes from their recommend/pan calls: call accuracy (50%): when they say buy, do players end up satisfied, and when they say skip, do players agree; alignment (25%): do their recommendations sort games the way players do; and player-side (25%): on games where press and players sharply disagreed, whose side were they on. The blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small histories can't peg the scale, and recent verdicts weigh more (2-year half-life).

“Littlewood is the kind of game where there’s no rush to do anything, because who needs to rush now that the bad times have all gone away? This is what life is life after the events of the main story. What does Link do once he’s rescued Zelda? He probably just chills in the long-grass and enjoys the serenity of a job well done. No one demands anything of the hero because this is their downtime, and by picking up a copy of this fine title you too can bask in the glory of a life where nothing much happens, and that’s just the way we like it.”

“I didn’t know what to expect when Wind Peaks landed. I’ve previously attempted the hidden object genre without any lasting connection, yet the visual design and world of Wind Peaks… piqued my interest. The storyline only lasts a couple of hours but engages throughout. Wind Peaks is a joyful, wholesome and relaxing experience that aims to stand tall and succeeds.”

“Since The Sopranos, crime families are cool. Fictitious ones, of course. From the GTA series through to the more literal Mafia 2, playing one of the bosses in one of these most feared families gives you enormous power and control.
