How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Street Fighter V rises to the occasion with its Champion Edition, adding much-needed content in one whole package that was supposed to be part of original Arcade Edition. Even though it is still riddled with some of the technical issues and balance problems, it’s a most complex SF game so far and can provide hours upon hours of fun with its diverse new moves for each character and fun challenges to fulfill.”

“If you have managed to hold out on getting into Street Fighter V and were waiting for the best time to dive in, well done! Champion Edition is the version to pick up. Although it isn't a totally complete package, it is still a chunky fighting game in terms of the amount of characters, fighting styles, stages, costumes, and modes included. Not the greatest in the series when it comes to looks and netcode, but it's still Street Fighter, and that's hard to go wrong with.”

“With 40 characters, 34 stages and more than 200 costumes, Street Fighter V Champion Edition is the most complete and advanced version of the game. Even if some of these contents could be obtained through the game progress and buyable DLCs, the standalone version is a no brainer purchase if you never bought the previous versions of the game.”

“With its launch problems well behind it, Street Fighter 5 is no longer a disgrace to the family name, with the Champion Edition able to take on any other fighter this generation.”

“When the last punch gets thrown, Street Fighter V Champion Edition isn't a perfect KO. What's here really should have been the baseline launch quality way back in 2016. That said, if you've been standing back on the sidelines of this fight up until now (possibly as you awkwardly punch the air in a looped animation), know that you can confidently leap in and experience a damned good street fight.”

“This Champion Edition is a cheap way to get back into Street Fighter V (when compared to the DLC packs of Tekken 7 or Dragon Ball FighterZ), but doesn’t add much to its original formula.”

“For my money it probably doesn’t best SF4, there’s something special about the way that game moves even if it is now ugly as sin in comparison to its successor, but Street Fighter 5 is easily one of the best fighting games of this generation, perhaps only bested by the dark horse that is Xbox’s Killer Instinct. ”

“Although the loading times do not really throw a spanner in the works, Capcom must do something about it. In addition, it would testify to fan service if the game is enriched with the fighters who are still missing. Just like the previous edition of the game, the Champion Edition is worth buying, unless you already have blisters and (digitally) bleeding knuckles. Then you have probably already played the most with your in-game money.”

“SFVCE is by no means an entirely new game, it’s just a culmination of where SFV has come so far. In the last four years, the game certainly has come a long way. If you’ve waited until now to jump in, this is obviously the best version to get.”

“Street Fighter V has had a long and crazy journey, but it's great knowing that it's ending its third round on top.”

“Fantastic visuals and exciting gameplay are the best parts of Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, along with its dizzying amount of content. The technical problems that still plague the game mean it will never be quite as good as Street Fighter 4 or other past games, but it's still better than many other fighting games out there. ”
