How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

Though some of the connective tissue that binds Onimusha: Way of the Sword together is a bit weak, though some of the pacing and padding is a bit thin, Capcom has once again shown us it is a master of its craft here. The developer dares to say 'no' to the ubiquitous Soulslike design and opt for something more unique, and more fitting for its central character, instead. By insisting you play honestly, learn how to wholly embody Musashi and his philosophies, Capcom forces a level of role-playing that merges narrative and mechanical storytelling. The result? There is no game out there that makes you feel more like a swordsman of legend than Onimusha: Way of the Sword.

I appreciate Way of the Sword for the sheer force of will it pours into finally resurrecting the spirit of Onimusha. Yet, much like this version of Musashi at the beginning of the game – wandering aimlessly, entirely fixated on perfecting his katana prowess – it doesn’t quite yet have a bigger picture in mind.

The lavish jungles, rigid command structure, and emphasis on communication make Hell Let Loose: Vietnam a fascinating war simulator when it works. But its many variables can all too easily devolve into a miserable snipe-fest.

Resonance: A Plague Tale LegacyAug 26, 2026 · Chris Schilling

Asobo's prequel adds toe-to-toe combat and hands-off puzzling to the Plague Tale recipe to winning effect – but the trauma porn of its second half takes considerable shine off an otherwise smartly paced action-adventure.

Madden NFL 27 is like a safe, predictable pick in the draft. It shows that EA Sports has already mastered the authentic recreation of the NFL, with high-quality graphics, backed up by solid single-player modes such as Superstar. Despite minimal advances in gameplay, the game logic and animations have improved immensely.

Marvel Tokon shines thanks to the electrifying gameplay from Arc System Works. Combined with its visual and audio elements, it creates a fast-paced, accessible, and incredibly fun experience. However, the offline modes are underwhelming, the stages are few and far between, and no one would mind having more characters.

Beast of ReincarnationAug 4, 2026 · Matt Wales

Game Freak borrows liberally from the genre's biggest hits. And while its messy and muddled, it's salvaged by exhilarating combat and traversal, and a surprising amount of soul.
