How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

A well executed VR port of Hitman World of Assassination, that brings motion control and higher resolution visuals to Agent 47’s lightly comedic sandbox of global contract killing.

Hitman: World of Assassination Part One, VR Edition from developer Io Interactive is an impressive and immersive VR experience that raises the bar for the Hitman series. It brings good content that will put you in the shoes of Agent 47 in an entirely different way. The only hiccups are some glitches that are wandering around the game, but the core gameplay is solid.

Hitman: World of Assassination's VR update brings you a brilliant new perspective and fun, interesting mechanics to the entire trilogy. Regardless of the few bits of content that didn't get the treatment, there's more than enough here to keep you occupied for hours and hours on end. Whether you're a long-time fan or looking to become the Silent Assassin for the first time, and I found it just as fun as its flat screen counterpart.

Hitman’s updated VR Access version is everything enthusiasts of Hitman and VR could have asked for. It doesn’t change the DNA of what makes Hitman incredible; it just bolsters out another way to experience the world through Agent 47's eyes.

HITMAN World of Assassination - PS VR2 is a terrific alternative way to play an already incredible game, with just a few minor issues.

Hitman: World of Assassination Trilogy on PS VR2 is a technically polished leap for the series, delivering tactile controls, richly detailed environments, and the sandbox freedom fans expect, yet its reliance on flat‑screen missions and the omission of modes like Freelancer and Contracts dull the sense of discovery; without bespoke VR scenarios, quick‑save support, or fully intuitive transitions, the package feels more like a high‑quality adaptation than a definitive virtual‑reality reimagining, rewarding for veterans eager to revisit classic assassinations from a new vantage, but unlikely to satisfy players seeking an experience conceived from the ground up for VR.

This is the best VR version of Hitman: World of Assassination, hands down. While it’s not a fully interactive world, the controls are still a bit inconsistent, and there are a few remaining bugs, virtual reality adds a whole new element to the game that makes it all new again and worth the occasional aggravation, even for veteran players. If you’ve ever wanted to really become Agent 47, this is an easy recommendation.

Hitman World of Assassination: VR Access on PSVR2 is well worth the price of admission for both fans of Hitman and those looking for their next VR fix. The shift from third person to VR is a small change that makes a huge difference to the game’s flow and feel, offering a level of immediacy and immersion not seen in the series before. While the PSVR patch for Hitman 3 was little more than a curio, the generational leap in both graphical fidelity and control offered by the PSVR2 makes it not only a legitimately fun alternative way to play, an already superb collection, but a must-have addition to any PSVR2 library.

After two attempts, IO Interactive has finally succeeded in transforming Hitman World of Assassination into a highly recommended VR experience. In fact, it's one of the best virtual reality games on the market. Unfortunately, it's still a game designed for a flat screen, so there are limitations that prevent it from being a complete VR experience.

The PS VR2 upgrade of Hitman: World of Assassination is an essential purchase. Each mission is packed with possibilities, allowing you to experiment with the array of tools to execute your mission. The implementation of VR elements helps to anchor you in the world and successfully positions you in the dress shoes of Agent 47. Even though there are some awkward interactions and texture pop-in, the wealth of content and immersive tactile gameplay more than make up for these shortcomings to deliver a deeply engaging and satisfying VR stealth experience.
