How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 45% | 48 | 7 |

“VirtuaVerse is a great adventure game with very bright visual style. References to the hacker scene, classic adventures and literature should appeal to veterans, but modern players should not be disappointed either. It's a pity that the project filled with sharp dialogues does not have a localization in Russian, but the authors promise to improve in June this year.”

“My adventure with VirtuaVerse gave me lots of satisfaction, even if the plot wasn't as gripping as I wanted it to be. What’s more, I became bored on more than one occasion. But this unique atmosphere of hacking and retro-tech made me stick to the very end. Point’n’click lives!”

“VirtuaVerse isn't all bad. It is a solid 10-plus hour plot that is a clear homage to some of the best portrayals of this dystopian vision of a futuristic world. There are a few nice set pieces here and there, and from a graphical standpoint, the visuals pop on the screen and are incredibly memorable. Likewise, the musical score compliments them ideally. However, this is an adventure that never gets off the ground thanks to lacklustre main characters, forgettable dialogue, and a clichéd plot. Worse still, the puzzling point-and-click adventure aspects of gameplay detract from the above more often than they enhance.”

“If you're looking for a series of complex riddles and a stimulating discussion on apocalypticism, VirtuaVerse and its point-and-click adventure are right up your seedy back alley.”

“The premise, art, music, and potential are all fantastic. But when it came time to actively engage with the game, I was hindered by unremarkable characters and poorly-conveyed puzzles.”

“Virtuaverse is a graphic adventure that got Cyberpunk in the aesthetics but not on contents and themes.”

“VirtuaVerse is a cyberpunk point and click experience that is more of a love letter to the genres along with an era of gaming. This is a work that loves both genres and gamers will equally appreciate the journey.”

“VituaVerse is an incredibly challenging point-and-click adventure that is targetted towards lovers of the genre. This allows the game to feature more complex puzzle designs, which will put a player’s skills to the test. There’s a real lack of direction as the developer doesn’t fully take advantage of the features that they have, but that ends up adding to the satisfaction of getting through a complicated puzzle.”

“VirtuaVerse is a low cost, high content title with one of the best stories available in the cyberpunk game genre. The visuals are top tier, as is the soundtrack, and it's very easy to get hooked on this point and click title. However, you might need a guide to complete this one, as it's pretty easy to get stuck or lost on your objective.”

“VirtuaVerse is a wonderful graphic adventure if you have the patience and the desire. With a very competent story, a wonderful pixel art and a magnificent soundtrack, it will leave no one indifferent. It just takes a good dose of patience.”

“VirtuaVerse is a lot of things. It is a tribute to old school point&click adventures and, at the same time, a modern take on the genre. It is also an act of love to cyberpunk and his themes. But more than anything else, VirtuaVerse is a great adventure set in a detailed world built on a great pixel graphic, fantastic music and a suggestive atmosphere.”
