How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

From the tedious gameplay to the story full of some of the worst dialogue in the genre, it really isn’t worth the time if you’re looking for anything more than just a bunch of erotic content stringed together as a video game.”

“In my opinion, Lust from Beyond: M Edition is a pointless version of the original title that robs players of the core theme of lust and cuts out part of the content. If the sight of a bare female breast is that much of a deal-breaker for you, you’re better off playing the censored mode of the base game or choosing another horror title in a similar vein, there are plenty of them on the market. The M Edition was intended to appeal to a wider audience, but you’d be much better off playing the classic Lust from Beyond. We can thus view the “M” rating as a futile attempt to please players who, however, certainly have no shortage of other options to choose from in the gaming world.”

“As bold, or unique the horror-meets-sex concept might be, the execution here is far from excellent… or great, or very good, to be honest. Lust from Beyond is a decent adventure, for sure, with a neat dose of Lovecraft in it as well. While it has its moments, it isn't really very effecting at being scary of discomforting, with the gameplay certainly being the least enjoyable aspect of it all. It's easy to find a lot worse in the realm of indie horror games, so if a big fan of the genre, do try it out if you get the chance to find it really cheap, just don't expect something that will stay with you for long.”

“"Lust from Beyond" spreads sexual desire throughout the game and reveals it clearly, evoking fantasies about sex. However, the game is not just pornography, it shows a higher level of Cosmic Horror in Lovecraft style. The dreary, dense expression of fear and bizarre design influenced by 'HR Giger' increase the immersion level of the game. But, the movement is very stiff, like a piece of wood, and the puzzle is clumsy and uncomfortable. In addition, it is difficult to play for a long time due to even more dizzy screen transitions than 3D VR.”

“Lust From Beyond is definitely not for the faint of heart or for the weak stomached but it is an interesting dive into the realms of the occult and insanity that can appear especially when dealing with the likes of H.P. Lovecraft, H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński. Interesting puzzles, crazier environments and even more psychotic cultists and monsters trying to hunt you down, there’s a hell of an adventure to be had if you’ve got the stomach, and the age, for it.”
