How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Total War: Warhammer 3 is the crowning achievement of the trilogy, and a game that will likely stay with us for years to come. It’s certainly not the end of the franchise, and even if it is the last entry in the sub-series, the conclusion couldn’t have been better.”

“Total War: Warhammer III is a true gift to any fans of Total War series and Warhammer franchise. It's not a revolutionary game, but the one with many unique features and deep interconnected lore. Sadly, optimization is far from the best, and if you look at Rome II it can definitely sour the whole experience.”

“It's true that the developers listened to the community and made changes to parts of the game that fans complained about in the second game, and in my opinion, they made those changes well. Given its scope and capabilities, the game is more extensive, has around 100 gigabytes, and is also quite performance intensive. Unfortunately, I didn't avoid optimization issues where the game should have run smoothly but didn't. Also, the size of the game will grow due to the planned DLC. Additionally, players of previous installments can play as factions from those titles. So it's safe to say that if something works, there's no point in tinkering. Still, I think Total War: Warhammer 3 deserves more innovation.”

“The classic Total War formula and remarkable Warhammer entourage formed a great alliance yet again.”

“Total War: WARHAMMER III is a fantastic conclusion to the trilogy. It builds on the foundations laid by the previous installments in the series and enriches the tried-and-true mechanics with new content. The battles, which form the core of the game, will put your tactical genius to the test while compelling you to zoom in again and again on the beautifully rendered units locked in combat. Fans of the series may be pleased (or disappointed) to find that, although the game refines old mechanics and introduces new ones, the gameplay remains essentially unchanged from previous installments.”

“Even though it’s not a perfect game, Total War: Warhammer 3 is indeed very close to the ultimate Total War experience. The diverse factions, the epic campaign and the vast, beautiful world are guaranteed to draw you in and keep you in for at least a few hundred hours.”

“Considering how well-established Total War: Warhammer is as a franchise; its third installment takes bold directions in terms of combat and sieges. Easy to grasp, hard to master and filled to the brim with great factions.”

“Total War: Warhammer 3 is a worthy finale to the trilogy. Despite technical issues (that will be fixed at some point), Creative Assembly’s newest title offers an especially good gameplay, even if you are not a big Warhammer fan. And this is not the end, as there will be updates…”

“Before you think about getting Total War Warhammer 3, just know that this is a game that will ask a lot from you, in terms of time and effort. It's demanding and stressful, with the most hectic and chaotic campaigns in the franchise to date. However, the sheer variety, diversity and aesthetics of the game can make the experience satisfying and rewarding.”

“Total War: Warhammer III is the most ambitious entry in the trilogy, for fans of both Total War and Warhammer Fantasy, the strengths clearly outweigh the weaknesses, delivering an epic finale that rewards the series' most devoted players.”

“While it does have some notable flaws, namely a somewhat messier campaign progression, Total War: Warhammer III still manages to impress. With multiple factions and legendary lords to choose from, along with a plethora of improvements to existing mechanics, you're bound to have one hell of a good time.”
