How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“An excellent game to play with friends and have fun, or just to lift your spirits in matches wirh randoms. But it's better to play with people you know, a ton of fun is guaranteed.”

“Party Animals is a playful and chaotic game that relies on the cuteness and clumsiness of animals as they battle each other in colorful arenas. However, the chaos and clumsiness, combined with sluggish controls, can very quickly turn the fun and smiles into intense frustration. If you have the chance to play with a group of friends, though, it’s a laid-back game perfect for evenings filled with fun, chaos, and playing pranks on one another.”

“It's not without some noticeable foibles, but if the best gauge for success was how often I said "just one more game… just one more game" then it deserves heaps of paw-sitivity.”

“Party Animals is a blast and a half! The music slaps, the animals are adorable, and the maps are magnificent - all of it works to create an addicting game that I want to keep coming back to, especially as more is added.”

“Party Animals is a game that you can play with your close friends and enjoy for long hours. However, it does get repetitive after a while and the microtransactions are a bit annoying.”

“Party Animals is great to play with friends online or locally. I had fun playing with all the silly animals but the physics got me a bit annoyed. This will be a game that will remain on my Xbox to play between larger gaming sessions!”

“Party Animals is a very fun party game, but under certain conditions.”

“Party Animals is a fantastic game to get everyone in the mood. Not only is the art design enriching, but the sound design really makes an impact as well. Each match will have you in hysterics as you fight for the crown. There are some serious concerns surrounding the microtransaction economy found within as well as a lack of accessibility options for people who need them. However, at the very least, the game does prove to be a fun time with friends and an easy way to lose track of the hours.”

“Whether you want an awesome teambuilding session at a low cost, to bond with your friends and family, or just have a relaxing period of fun after a long day, Party Animals is a great way to do it. When you stack up the minuscule cost and download size against the massive replayability and fun potential, the decision to jump in becomes a no-brainer.”

“Party Animals isn't a bad multiplayer game, but it has some strange and almost unnecessary flaws, and the longevity of the fun you'll have playing it is questionable.”

“Party Animals is a great multiplayer title to play with friends that won't get boring or super repetitive like other titles in the genre. With a huge variety of characters and maps to check out, this will keep you busy for a long time.”
