How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

    Culdcept BEGINSAug 15, 2026 · Evan Norris

This newest installment is an approachable, beginner-friendly take on the classic formula, enhanced by deep tactical gameplay and an exceptional new aesthetic. If it weren't for an underachieving single-player campaign, it would be a complete success.

    Moonlight PeaksAug 5, 2026 · Evan Norris

Moonlight Peaks is a worthy addition to the growing library of cozy games on Nintendo's latest hybrid, thanks to solid mechanics, a satisfying gameplay loop, dozens of hours of content, and a clever supernatural twist. It's not the best of the best, due to some pacing and grinding issues, but it's worth your time and energy, particularly if you enjoy games like Story of Seasons and Wylde Flowers.

If you're a fan of Team Asano's previous work and of games in the Zelda tradition, you may want to pick this one up, once update 1.1.0 is live and the asking price has dropped somewhat. It's not an essential piece of the HD-2D collection, but it's an adequate adventure that will help scratch that Zelda itch.

    Forza Horizon 6Jul 1, 2026 · Stephen LaGioia

Forza Horizon 6 is a culmination of the open-world simcade racing franchise, with tons of familar and new events, collectibles, and sights to see — brought to life by gorgeous Japanese environments.

    MixtapeJun 27, 2026 · Lee Mehr

Beethoven & Dinosaur's latest is better at musically capturing perfect moments than narratively or mechanically, which means those highs dissipate when the track stops.

Call of the Elder GodsJun 14, 2026 · Lee Mehr

Out of the Blue's sequel has a bigger canvas and more colors to play with, but new mistakes diminish the magic such eldritch adventures promise.

    AphelionJun 12, 2026 · Lee Mehr

As if frostbitten of any nuance, intrigue, or genuine character, Aphelion may just be Don't Nod's most boring title of all time.

Mina the HollowerJun 10, 2026 · Evan Norris

Not only is the game a worthy successor to Shovel Knight, it's arguably the best title Yacht Club Games has produced. There are a handful of minor flaws — characterization gaps, a telegraphed story, the lack of a detailed map, a late-game difficulty spike — but they're relatively unimportant compared to everything the game does well.

People of NoteMay 21, 2026 · Lee Mehr

Iridium Studios' latest album is a conflicting one: a list of solid and middling tracks that does enough to earn considered appreciation, but not stardom.

    Hades IIMay 11, 2026 · Karl Koebke

Hades II follows in some pretty big footsteps, but does repeating the same tactics start to feel repetitive in itself?

Marvel MaXimum Collection is an incomplete collection of Marvel-themed Super Hero games from the '90s, and what is featured has not aged very well.

GreedFall: The Dying WorldApr 16, 2026 · Lee Mehr

Despite unfortunate launch-window technical issues, Spiders' ambitious shift towards turn-based combat results in a commendable prequel.

FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKEApr 13, 2026 · Nicholas Taylor

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake ended up being a largely pleasant experience which was interrupted several times by general frustration. I'd still recommend it to any fan of the horror game genre, but I'd honestly recommend Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse much more warmly.

Thanks to significant improvements in storytelling, world design, combat, and visuals, it's the first genuinely great game in the sub-series. It's so good, in fact, that it can go toe-to-toe with the best installments of the mainline Monster Hunter series.

    High On Life 2Mar 27, 2026 · Stephen LaGioia

High on Life 2, while lacking some of the more outrageous humor and novelty factor of the first rendition, makes up for it in other areas — namely the skateboard inclusion, more gun varieties, and a smattering of neat easter eggs.
