How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Battlefield 6 may not be a perfect game, but it is definitely the best game in the series in a long time, and it's hard to describe just how good it feels to play Battlefield again.

Sure, I could complain about the rather modest content at launch and the terrible storyline in single-player mode, but in reality, these are minor inconveniences. Battlefield 6 is an FPS that I had a lot of fun playing, and I know I won't be moving on from this title anytime soon. Although I still have a lot of affection for the older installments, I already feel that I will spend hundreds, maybe even thousands of hours with the sixth installment, as long as the developers don't give up and consistently deliver new content. I look to the future with hope and joy, wondering what else the developers have in store for us. Nevertheless, Battlefield 6 is already an excellent game with sensational optimization, great visuals, and phenomenal sound, and above all, gameplay that is completely addictive, providing many hours of great fun.

The Battlefield studio has provided us with one of the best and most distinctive installments in the series, standing out with a new story mode set in the present time and different from before; it featured good stages that varied slightly and an average story, but was distinguished by high graphics quality and stunning cinematic scenes. The multiplayer mode is perfect, delivering what the audience wishes for with an amazing destruction system, an abundance of game modes and maps, modified soldier classes, and excellent weapon customization. It faced problems with the anti-cheat system, the excessive presence of bots, and poor and difficult aircraft piloting.

Battlefield 6 has proven to be a successful return to form for the series after a string of disastrous failures. While it's clear that not everything went according to plan for EA, Zampella and Co. managed to lay a solid foundation for future development.

After the fiasco of Battlefield 2042, Battlefield 6 returns to the roots of the series and brings an authentic atmosphere of modern warfare. Multiplayer is the main attraction, sophisticated maps, various game modes, and intense environmental destruction. The campaign is weaker, but it exists. The sound and graphics are top-notch, and the optimization is quite successful. Battlefield 6 offers a solid foundation and the fun that fans have been calling for, confirming that the series is back.

Yes, the settings are detailed and occasionally breathtaking, and there’s a glorious range of weapons, vehicles, and gadgets to mow down enemies with. But the focus given to the view and the firepower makes the lack of detail everywhere else all too apparent, and the end result is about as satisfying as an action film that’s all special effects and stunt work.

Battlefield 6 is a game that sets the series on a new path. It delivers exactly what we wanted from it, massive, intense, and visually and aurally stunning battles that will keep you engrossed for hours on end. It proves that even after years of searching, the series can once again take up arms and fight for supremacy on the digital battlefield. And this time, it has some truly powerful ammunition. So, friends, “see you on the battlefield.”

EA has invested a lot to put Battlefield back on the map, and it might be a while before we know if the big bets pay off. But for now, Battlefield 6 feels like the series has found its identity again.

Battlefield 6 isn't quite as great as a couple of the series' previous entries, but it's still better than most of them, and is far and away the best AAA shooter to release this decade.

Battlefield 6 feels like a return to form for the series, blending chaotic, fast-paced battles with moments of real tactical depth. The maps are fun but often smaller than expected, pushing a faster, more aggressive style of play. Vehicles feel satisfying, each class has a clear role, and the new tactical hammer adds creative ways to interact with the environment. Portal mode is a joy, letting you remix old favorites and craft your own mayhem. Despite some balance quirks, it’s an energetic, highly enjoyable shooter, and I can’t wait to see how the game evolves in the future.

Battlefield 6 is simply a truly excellent entry in the series. Not as good as Battlefield 4, but definitely the best in years. It already makes me want to play match after match and unlock every available weapon and add-on.
