How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 16 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 11 times.

“The Mexican Ninja experience is literally a missed opportunity. From what I played, the game's quality as a game is very good and would have undoubtedly achieved a high rating, but its completely unacceptable technical state made the overall experience extremely bad. In its current state, I do not recommend it at all, ever.”

“The Sinking City 2 is considered a very courageous and bold step from Frogwares studio, and a tangible success in shifting from open investigation to pure survival horror in the footsteps of games like Alan Wake 2 and Resident Evil. The game succeeded in delivering a terrifying and visually stunning Lovecraftian atmosphere, with focused level design and highly enjoyable puzzles. Despite this quantum leap, the game suffered from some design contradictions; most notably breaking survival rules by providing unlimited resources in key encounters, alongside voice acting that did not rise to the level of the story. If you are a fan of survival horror and enjoy dark atmospheres and smart puzzles, the experience offers an enjoyable journey worth attention, even if some of its aspects cracked under the rubble of combat details.”

“The developers' passion can be seen in Duskfade. It is clear that they loved classic platformers and tried to re-introduce that feeling to a new generation of players, and they succeeded in many aspects, especially the level design which was flaw-free, the variety of environments in these levels, the joy of exploration within them, and certainly their distinctive visual and audio identity. On the other hand, the core of the game itself suffers from problems that are hard to ignore. Exaggerated jump physics, unpolished combat, and a bad Lock-On system are all things that directly affect what you will be doing the most throughout hours of gameplay. Despite completing the game 100% and enjoying exploring every corner of it, I was left with a continuous feeling that the game was just one step away from being an excellent platformer, and that step is polish, which unfortunately was not present enough. In the end, we have an enjoyable adventure for fans of 3D platformers, but it is not the experience that surpasses the games from which it inspired its ideas.”

“Kusan: City of Wolves offers a challenging and distinctive combat experience, combining engaging dramatic narrative with a captivating artistic style. Although the narrative suffers from some flaws resulting from the approach taken in presenting the story, the game compensates for it with fun gameplay, epic boss encounters, and a good variety of weapons and enemies, despite a flaw in the distribution of this variety. Additionally, some skills seemed to be of limited usefulness or virtually useless throughout the experience. With a good progression system despite a few notes, while level design stands out as one of the game's strongest elements, delivering, overall, a very excellent experience.”

“Celestial Return possesses one of the most interesting new worlds among modern narrative games, successfully blending cyberpunk with cosmic horror in an innovative way. However, the game seems closer to an excellent visual novel trying to present itself as an RPG, despite not reaching the point of being a true role-playing game. If the developers had succeeded in improving the dialogues, providing more creative outcomes for failure, and granting players greater freedom in shaping events, it would have transformed into one of the most prominent indie narrative games this year. Currently, it is a very good experience in terms of world and story, but it still stumbles due to some decisions that stand in the way of what it is trying to achieve.”

“The first installment of the Halo series is considered the jewel made by Xbox and the primary reason for Xbox's success. What this legendary entry truly deserved was a remake worthy of the game's historical status, and to fulfill this entitlement, Halo Campaign Evolved was released. It preserved the spirit of the original game while bringing improvements to the narrative style, environment design, vehicle handling, along with high quality in gameplay and graphics, the addition of usable weapons, and extra missions to pave the way for the game's story. However, the game was flawed by some issues such as repetitive level design in indoor areas, technical issues, and problems in cinematic cutscenes.”

“In the end, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Resynced provided an enjoyable experience, but it did not achieve what I was expecting from a game that carries the description of a 'remake.' It succeeded in clearly developing the gameplay, whether through improving combat, climbing, and ship combat, which are elements that made returning to the pirates' world more enjoyable and smoother than ever before. On the other hand, the concept of a remake was not reflected in the remaining aspects as required, as the story did not witness fundamental changes, the Animus story was completely deleted, and the graphical level came closer to an enhanced remaster than to a true remake, alongside a number of technical problems and bugs that affected the experience. Therefore, as a fan of the original part, I felt intense enjoyment while playing this version and loved it very much, but I was expecting a complete rebuilding that keeps pace with the capabilities of the current generation, and the game did not meet these expectations.”

“Zero Parades: For Dead Spies is another proof of the talent and capability of ZA/UM studio, just as it previously presented to us Disco Elysium. This time, it presented to us a game characterized by a mysterious and exciting story, influential and good characters, to be completed with a narrative style perfectly suited to the game's story, in addition to the role-playing systems that the studio offers in new and distinctive ways. And just where the positive points appear, the negative points appeared as well; as the game offers a small world that does not encourage exploration, complexity of missions through waiting and not providing clear clues, and a drop in the story's pacing in some parts of the missions.”

“Marathon delivers a solid Competitive Extraction Shooter experience, highlighted by a captivating art direction and an unmatched Sound design, It features polished shooting mechanics, interactive environments, and thrilling PvP encounters that border on perfection, alongside diverse quests and an excellent progression system. On the contrary, the game falters in storytelling, relying heavily on text menus instead of interactive presentation. The PvE enemies lack variety, making their combat almost entirely devoid of strategic depth. Furthermore, it suffers from a highly frustrating user experience due to a cluttered, complex, and unappealing UI, weak and boring customization, constant server issues, and a bad matchmaking system.”

“Our journey to Japan came full of passion and dazzling details; as Playground Games studio managed to maintain the series' identity and richness, by providing more diverse and exciting races that grant players a renewed and enjoyable experience all the time. The team also excelled in designing a massive and captivating world pulsing with life, full of breathtaking scenes and enchanting atmospheres that make its exploration a pleasure in itself. The quality of the experience was not limited to that only, but was also supported by a strong technical level, dazzling graphics, and meticulous sound design that enhanced the sense of immersion and made the experience unforgettable, despite the existence of some noticeable similarities with the previous installment.”

“Hades II succeeded in surpassing the legacy of the first part to prove itself as one of the best and most complete Roguelike gaming experiences in history. The game offers a mature epic story and a massive, diverse world that expands in two different paths, alongside carefully written characters and a stunning artistic direction accompanied by great music that escalates with every hit to increase immersion. With a perfect gameplay style, it offers a high-speed combat system, supported by a great variety of abilities, giving players infinite freedom. This mixture is completed with the high challenge of bosses and the renewal of enemies in every area, creating a perfect and highly addictive Gameplay Loop, making every attempt a unique adventure.”

“MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is considered an exceptional experience that succeeded in providing a unique blend between nostalgia and modern gameplay mechanics. The developer was able to craft a fun and addictive gameplay style, supported by excellent variety in weapons and deep upgrade systems that give the experience additional value. The game's greatest achievement lies in its stunning artistic direction; as it revived the aesthetics of 1930s classic cartoons with superb craftsmanship and merged them with dark Noir atmospheres to create a world unlike anything else. It is not just a shooter game, but a hand-drawn work of art that reflects great passion in execution, making it one of the most distinctive games in its category.”

“"An Exceptional Science Fiction Experience" Following years of uncertainty and delays, Capcom has proven that Pragmata is not merely a dazzling technical showcase, but a magnificent action-adventure experience that introduces innovative gameplay concepts. It masterfully balances a poignant human narrative with sustained excitement, offering a unique space odyssey that redefines the essence of character cooperation. Without a doubt, it stands as one of the year’s most distinguished achievements.”

“After the experience, WWE 2K26 can be considered one of the best installments in the series, as 2K has finally succeeded in achieving a balance between fun and realism inside the ring, and presented smoother and more convincing matches that reflect the atmosphere of wrestling very closely to reality. This is alongside a massive and diverse amount of content from modes and characters that give you long hours of play without boredom and make each experience different from the other. Although the in-game purchase system may be annoying with the presence of some repetition in some modes and some technical errors, these defects do not diminish the strength of the core experience; the gameplay foundation itself is cohesive and fun, and this is what clearly highlights WWE 2K26 from the rest of the installments and makes it a big step forward in the series.”

“The ninth installment of the Resident Evil series was able to take us on a journey that might be one of the best in the history of the series—a journey that blends revealing the secrets of the past and paving the way for the future, amidst an atmosphere saturated with horror and excitement throughout the experience. Capcom succeeded in presenting a wonderful story and a distinctive gameplay style; it even provided an experience that satisfied two audiences at once: the horror audience with the tension, survival, and mystery it carried, and the excitement audience with the enthusiastic encounters and thrilling moments it included. Despite the presence of some padding here and there, and the discarding of an important element that was an authentic part of the series' identity, which is puzzles, the final result was very strong and distinctive.”
