How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

With a faster feel, reworked move lists, and a Drive system that rewards aggressive and defensiveness at the same time, Street Fighter 6 revitalizes the series and offers all kinds of players something new to learn and plenty to do.

Street Fighter 6 has made me the happiest I’ve been with a game in quite some time. As somebody who always wanted to play fighting games but whose neurodivergence prevented them, the new Modern controls and consistent approachability is simply joyous. Brimming with personality, immensely gratifying, and packed with a shocking amount of content, I’m still rather shocked by exactly how hooked I’ve become. It’s just a shame Capcom’s insistence on pernicious monetization lets the welcoming effort down, because besides that I have no notes. Street Fighter 6 is the fighting game I needed.

Street Fighter 6 introduces a versatile fighting game system that brilliantly refines mechanics introduced in previous iterations. With its innovative story mode and modern control options, it stands out from its predecessors as the most accessible Street Fighter game ever made. Add in its unique style and solid online gameplay options, and Street Fighter 6 shines bright for the series while setting the bar high for future fighting games.

Street Fighter 6 is a resounding success. The team at Capcom managed to give newcomers smooth transition into the game with new modern control scheme and big story mode, while also not loosing the gameplay depth this series is known for.

Street Fighter 6 is a step forward in the fighting games genre, new mechanics, heroes, and accessibility for complete newcomers to the series. However, the novelty in the form of the World Tour turned out to be terrible. Outdated game design, uninteresting world, and quests. Although it could have been a significant part of the game that could have shot the genre to a new level, it's just a dud mode that feels like a completely different studio working on it.

A large-scale and insanely engaging fighting game with high production values, especially compared to the release version of Street Fighter V. It's able to please both longtime fans of this franchise and newcomers unfamiliar with the genre. If you have long waited to join a huge crowd of Street Fighter fans, but didn't know how to approach it, now is the best time to do it.

Street Fighter 6 offers players the chance to create their own avatar and explore an open world in World Tour mode, reminiscent of the Yakuza series. Players can complete side missions, collect items, and battle various enemies. During World Tour, they can also train with legendary heroes and learn new fighting skills. The Battle Hub is a public space where players can meet and compete against other players. The game also features a classic battle mode and the option to play on the Steam Deck. Overall, Street Fighter 6 offers fans of the series a diverse and entertaining experience.
