How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 69 | 60 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 63% | 62 | 664 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 81% | 75 | 193 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“If there's one thing Park Beyond can't do, it's its management system, which doesn't work correctly and will frustrate you. So, if you prefer a sandbox, Park Beyond is a game you can enjoy. If you're looking for a theme park operation simulator, you should go back a few years when simulators still knew their limits.”

“Park Beyond is undoubtedly a very enjoyable and user-friendly amusement park simulator. Building the park is intuitive and fun. The attractions are also well-designed, both visually and in terms of sound. Thanks to this, the entire park feels lively, and the game successfully captures the authentic atmosphere of an amusement park. However, it’s more of a title for newcomers to the genre or players looking for a relaxing break rather than sophisticated management-focused building simulators. The game’s biggest drawback is its technical issues, which can really detract from the overall enjoyment of the game.”

“Park Beyond may have lightyears ahead with its impossification mechanic, but other features and bugs encountered made it not worth the while of spending hours sinking in the game.”

“Park Beyond will probably be pretty good one day, but it is not this day. Currently, it's a theme park building sim that doesn't include features that we'd consider to be a basic requirement of the genre, it's poorly balanced with systems that feel wildly misjudged, and it's also riddled with bugs and glitches that range from comical to pad-tossingly infuriating. Avoid it like Alton Towers during the school holidays.”

“If classic construction and management games are overwhelming for you, Park Beyond will offer you a lighter experience, but with an interesting level of challenge. However, the Impossification option that gives it an unique touch was not enough to make it a must-play game.”

“Park Beyond, which wanted to bring a new flavor to the Tycoon genre, failed to use its full potential. It has the capacity to become much better by solving various technical and in-game problems.”

“Park Beyond delivers a captivating theme park adventure with innovative concepts and stunning visual design. The engaging campaign, featuring pitch meetings and diverse themes, will keep you invested and motivated. The impossification mechanic adds a unique twist, allowing you to create mind-bending roller coasters. However, the game is marred by technical issues, including game-crashing bugs and a lack of support for set pieces and decorations. Despite these shortcomings, Park Beyond's commitment to diversity and inclusivity is commendable. With updates and improvements, it has the potential to become a standout title in the genre, offering an immersive and imaginative experience.”

“Despite making an excellent first impression, Park Beyond ends in a downward spiral that's exciting in a coaster, but lethal in an economy.”

“Park Beyond is a spectacle to behold with some great ideas, but the glitter and lights don't quite hide the shaky foundations that desperately need some repairs.”

“Park Beyond is a hugely enjoyable park builder that thrives on accessibility, personality and creativity.”

“Park Beyond takes you into the mind of a manager who must ensure that an amusement park runs smoothly and brings in money. Sounds interesting, but we already know this formula from Planet Coaster. Park Beyond borrows a lot of elements from that game and that makes Park Beyond feel like a cheap clone in a new jacket. Certainly not a bad game, because customizing your roller coaster yourself is a fun option. Don't expect too much from it though, because it's fun for an afternoon and then you're done.”

“Park Beyond's premise is an exciting one that's full of promise, but its technical issues, gameplay limitations and core fundamentals hold it back from being a truly polished park tycoon title.”
