How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| All-time Steam reviews | 81% | 75 | 335 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 58% | 59 | 3 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“Whenever approaching a licensed property, especially one associated more with kids, veteran gamers are going to come to the table with a healthy amount of earned skepticism...”

“Simple, cute, and a colorful Smurfs game with a coop mode as a bonus.”

“Like I mentioned at the top this is a game that just feels like it exists. I was drawn in thanks to my connection to the Smurfs from my childhood. Playing with my son he enjoyed the game, but had little interest in learning about the characters. It feels like the game is more built to tug at nostalgia instead of bringing in new interest. Even so the core game is enjoyable enough to recommend for parents looking to play games with their kids. It is easy enough to play while also not being too simplified for the sake of being a ‘kids’ game. Definitely worth checking out for parents and kids alike.”

“This is a game that is mainly for children, so focusing on narration and world is not that important.”

“The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf is mainly aimed at the young audience, but adults can also enjoy themselves. Visually, it is not always beautiful. Despite the fact that the controls aren't too difficult and don't make the game unplayable, they could have been a bit better. Nevertheless, the gameplay compensates for the shortcomings and there is no shortage of fun.”

“The Smurfs, Mission Vileaf is a decent adaptation of the cartoon series, even though it's not exactly noteworthy or memorable.”

“The Smurfs: Mission Blight is an entertaining linear 3D platformer with influences from Super Mario Sunshine but also many original ideas and solid level design. The technical implementation is rather unstable, however, and will undoubtedly spoil the fun for technically demanding players.”

“With The Smurfs - Mission Vileaf, Osome Studio offers a kind of huge tutorial to 3D platformers: folded in the space of just a few hours, the adventure is only for beginner players in full development of their fine motor skills. With beacons every two meters and invisible walls in abundance, this initiatory course with a very nice tone remains much too wise to satisfy other profiles.”

“Just in time for the holiday shopping season comes a smurf platformer that's much better than it should be. The relatively low budget is certainly noticeable in most things, but the most important parts shine. With charming graphics and as entertaining as it is challenging platforming, it's a colourful adventure that's perfect for the whole family.”

“Thanks to a colourful, well-designed world, challenging platforming sections and engaging gameplay, The Smurfs, Mission Vileaf solidifies itself as an example of one of the best children’s franchise tie-in games we’ve seen in recent years. It might be a bit too challenging for younger players by themselves, but it means it’s just as fun for adults, too. This is a commendable 3D platforming adventure that players of all ages will enjoy.”
