How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Moving Out 2 is what you would expect from a sequel to the first Moving Out. More levels and features, more things to unlock and secrets to discover. Combined, the very good state of the art gives us a worthy sequel to check out. SMG Studio has brought us a very good party game worth experiencing.

Moving Out 2 provides more of the same slapstick shenanigans in a world of clumsy movers and fragile items. The silly humor is present and accounted for with more levels to conquer while you laugh along. The developers have played it safe with minor changes that improve the experience overall.

The chaotic adaptability in the face of whatever weird mash-up of things that Moving Out 2 throws at you is what makes it more than just a delivery machine for so many puns. The silliness of being a F.A.R.T. is predicated on enjoyable, rock-solid gameplay. If you want to see everything the game has to offer, your moving techniques will have to change right along with the dimensions themselves. That is, after all, what moving’s all about: never sitting still.

The first time I cleared the fog, my whole world changed. Moving Out 2 is a pretty funny, stressful, gorgeous-looking, tiring, great-sounding, exhausting game that puts you in one of life’s worst situations: moving. The enthusiasm that radiates from the game is contagious, whether you’re playing solo or with friends. I had a blast, especially with the varied, custom-designed levels, I enjoyed every inch of them, even when I couldn’t see what was around the corners. And the best part? I’ve now completed a truly professional training course for my own move.

Moving Out 2 may not quite be your multiplayer forever home, but its good vibes and intricate challenges are going to cause many joyful whoops of celebration, cries of frustration, irreparably broken furniture, and wild accusations about how the hell a bookcase fell off the balcony. Sounds like coming home to us.

While mostly staying true to the formula of the original, there’s just enough new polish and fun to make it worth a fresh look

Moving Out 2 is a solid sequel to an already excellent game. Not every new addition is a hit but the majority are, adding in plenty of barmy ideas to an already manic game. It’s a hoot with a few pals sitting on the couch and having a laugh as they hurl a microwave through a window and bounce it off a parasol into the truck. Just be careful that the farmyard levels don’t turn your friend group into an angry mob baying for blood.

If you're after more Overcooked-like co-op fun, Moving Out 2 is a great option. Its colourful presentation, cheeky humour, and increasingly madcap levels combine for a successful follow-up.

Moving Out 2 is a chaotic, colorful sequel that thrives in multiplayer but struggles in solo play. With imaginative levels, quirky humor, and accessibility options galore, it’s a fun follow-up that adds variety to the original formula. Just be ready for some unpredictable animal antics and late-game difficulty spikes.

With a simple but very engaging concept, Moving Out 2 will put players finding the best ways to move objects inside and outside people's houses with a lot of learning involved when it comes to coordination and keeping within the time limit. The game is especially outstanding on local multiplayer, where hours of unbridled fun between friends are assured, thanks to the accessible but demanding controls. A true gem of fun and hilarity that more than deserves its place in players' hands.

Of course, the most important part of this game is the chaos that unleashes when you get together with friends, be it now through real life or online. Much can be said about the hassle of hauling your belongings and asking help from a company to aid you in such a troubled time. But Moving Out 2‘s incredibly wacky and wild multiplayer adventure as a mover will keep you coming back for one more round.
