How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Tape: Unveil the Memories is a creative indie adventure that does its best to appeal to suspense lovers whether they prefer stealth or story, but a middling narrative and inconsistent puzzles make it feel like more of a chore than a thrill.”

“Tape: Unveil the Memories has compelling elements, but they're overshadowed by some truly bad mechanics and dull monster encounters.”

“TAPE: Unveil the Memories is a pretty solid narrative story if you're into dark themes and exploring the subconscious.”

“TAPE: Unveil the Memories is a decent-looking game, and it has a nice enough soundtrack, too. It’s just a shame that its blend of engaging puzzles and fairly accomplished storytelling are brought down by poor stealth sections that feel out of place. Still, it’s definitely worth a play if you enjoy a sordid tale full of twists of turns. You’ll just need a little patience and persistence to get through some of its encounters.”

“Cowards who love horror games, rejoice! For in TAPE: Unveil The Memories we have a psychological thriller title that offers plenty of eerie ambiance without a total barrage of cheap jumpscares. Oh sure, there’s definitely a haunting tale to be had here, but one that will only raise the blood pressure a little bit. If you’re looking for a standard horror game experience, you’ll have to look elsewhere, but if you’re after a thriller game that offers an interesting puzzle mechanic and scintillating story full of secrets to uncover, TAPE: Unveil The Memories is just waiting for you to press play.”

“With a story that has kept us glued to the screen from beginning to end, very ingenious puzzles and a very good taste to represent and reference the culture of Spain, TAPE: Unveil the Memories has been a pleasant surprise. If you like stories of intrigue and suspense with a hint of terror, you can't miss it.”

“Tape: Unveil the Memories is a game with an interesting idea, but unfortunately just falls a bit short. While the narrative and drip-fed creative puzzles kept me going, it became somewhat of a chore by the end. With some more variety in gameplay, and additional complex puzzles, this could definitely have been a big winner for me. While I wanted to love it, I just couldn’t quite get there.”

“TAPE: Unveil The Memories is a standard horror game, which doesn't fail or stand out in any particular way. If you are a fan of horror movies, you will surely find interest in its references.”

“Tape: Unveil the Memories immerses us in the past of Iria, a young Galician who lives with her mother and who will recall parts of her past that she thought had been forgotten to discover what happened to her father. Recommended.”

“Tape: Unveil the Memories offers us a Playstation Talents tittle with a rather modest graphic section. However, it is a title that play quite well with mystery and narrative, making it very interesting and biting our curiosity to the point of making us want to play more to reveal different mysteries and aspects of the plot. Surely as survival horror it is a fairly limited and simple game, with few or almost no jump scares, in addition to traditional formulas already seen in other games, so if you are looking to be scared, I can't recommend it, but if you are just looking to have a good time, it will surely pleasantly surprise you.”
