How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 59 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 28 times.

Outlet vs. players
Each dot is a game both this outlet and players scored. The dashed line is perfect agreement: dots above it mean the outlet was more generous than players, below it more harsh.

“The Incident at Galley House perfectly executes what a mystery game should be. Amazing performances from all voice actors bringing never-ending immersion, paired with the addictive gameplay and gripping story, makes for an unforgettable experience awaiting you in Galley House.”

“Mistfall Hunter is a genuinely compelling extraction RPG built on a striking world, satisfying core combat, and a tense, high-stakes loop that rewards players willing to learn its systems and adapt their approach. Where it currently falls short is consistency: server instability, uneven class balance, and a thin map pool are real problems that go beyond simple launch jitters, and the solo experience in particular needs meaningful attention. It’s a game with a clear identity and real potential, and for players willing to ride out its rough patches, especially with a squad, there’s already a lot here worth sinking time into. ”

“Halo Campaign Evolved takes the series back to its iconic roots, with a superb campaign, great gameplay and stellar visuals and sound design. Everything that made Master Chief so beloved is in this remake. For newcomers, this is a strong package with some solid new missions to flesh out the story and lore further. For owners of the anniversary collections, this might leave a slightly sour taste. It’s clear this title was an attempt to capture a new audience, partly at the expense of its current one. Still, this remains an all time classic campaign which is tons of fun solo or in co-op!”

“Overall I really enjoyed Shift at Midnight. It keeps scares interesting by mixing jumpscares with a creepy atmosphere and creepy story events. It also changes the way you play later in the game and lets you roleplay as a detective. Trying to find anything wrong with what the person has said or if there is something wrong on the N.E.T database. But the entity isn’t as scary as it should be.”

“Lootbound is one of the best indie games of 2026 that excels in every aspect. The combat is tactical and satisfying. The atmosphere and art direction are captivating and represent dark fantasy extremely well. The gameplay loop is rewarding, and progression is well-balanced. The only thing holding it back is its lack of story and narrative support. Every run has a sense of purpose and feels different thanks to the RPG nature. Lootbound easily stands out as one of the best roguelite and turn-based games in recent memory.”

“TerraTech Legion is a fine blend of much-loved games and bullet hell mechanics. It is simple, hectic, and fun to play. I enjoyed it casually, but I can see hardcore fans playing it continuously.”

“Cat Mail Co is a surprising game for me. After playing it for 3 hours, the game can become repetitive with its loop. You call in a customer, focus on his request, then the counter closes, the ship comes and you send out packages. It is enjoyable, not by any means bad, but it is repetitive. This could change if it’s played in Multiplayer with your friends, so I can be wrong here. The one thing that really justifies it, and makes it entertaining is the trash pile cleaning and sorting. I didn’t unlock every room, so there may be more to find out and uncover. The progression system is okay in my opinion, doesn’t feel fast or slow, just right. Although level-ups feel unrewarding with its basic unlocks like islands. It just gives you more things to look out for, with the same amount of spaces in your building. Surprisingly, the game doesn’t have any gameplay issues, like control bugs, or in-game bugs, so it works as intended. This, paired with the bug-free experience, is why this game is good overall.”

“This all results in a game that is heavily reliant on RNG and physics mechanics, which may sometimes feel frustrating and annoying. Lack of any meaningful progression system and build crafting is another glaring issue. Certain enemy designs actively work against whatever agency the player has left. Despite all this, Rune Dice is a refreshing take on the roguelite genre and has a satisfying gameplay loop. It is a game worth trying, especially for the fans of this genre who are hungry for something visually and mechanically different.”

“Assassins Creed Black Flag Resynched is a rare remake in today’s age. It actually feels like the developers have sunk passion and time into the project and made this a worthy addition to the franchise. Sure, there are some missteps, with bugs and glitches and the uneven combat system, but, for the most part, this is a beautiful journey. It’s a wonderful story with new characters and content, stellar naval combat and exploration and some of the best visuals this year. Black Flag Resynched is what makes this franchise so beloved. It will always be, a pirate’s life for me.”

“As I said, the creature designs are interesting, the gimmicks each creature has to offer are fun to play with, and the game is pretty fun for a simple romp. I will definitely boot this up every now and then to try out the Void Strikes mode and see how far I can get without losing my rewards. But for everyone else, if you like what you see, I’d suggest picking this game up and adding it to your collection.”

“This game has really good bones, with 12 or 13 hours in the game I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface. The good far outweigh the bad in my eyes and the game feels oddly relaxing. It gives me the vibes of those old mobile games like clash of clans. If you enjoyed the settlement system in the fallout games you’ll more than likely like this game as well. I would highly recommend this game.”

“Catto’s Post Office packs lots fun in its short length. There is also never a moment of confusion, instead just constant and passive game progression with a happy-go-luck vibe and somewhat of a somber “everyone forgot my birthday” undertone. You, as Catto, can choose to sulk about lack of attention or “be strong” and persevere. I will say that the end of the game made me laugh very hard. All the kitty characters are unique and silly, and become even more loosey goosey with humorous quips at the very end. I highly recommend this game if you’re looking to pass the hour!”

“IO Interactive already had a glowing reputation with their work on the Hitman franchise and now, they’re reaping the rewards with 007 First Light. A brilliant, heartfelt and action packed James Bond story coupled with stunning visuals, gripping gameplay and a killer soundtrack. Add in a masterful effort in voice acting and you have the modern day quintessential James Bond game. I cannot wait to see where these developers take 007 next. James Bond is back!”

“Overall, Demon Lord: Just a Block is certainly not just a block. It’s a fun roguelite action game with tile-based gameplay. It has all the best things I love in roguelites with pleasantly surprising strategic twist that goes beyond just running in and hacking away (though you certainly still can). I adored the whimsical art style. I enjoyed testing out different builds, abilities and weapons. Combat felt smooth with a blend of strategy and action. This is certainly one I plan on coming back to and is easily one of my favorites of the game’s I’ve reviewed. I happily recommend giving this one a consideration, especially for anyone with a Steam Deck.”
