How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Overcooked! All You Can Eat is, in my opinion, just a marketing ploy to extract even more money from the fans. The innovations that the developers are boasting about, which should supposedly be the main attraction for buying this edition, are not that dazzling. The online mode is almost unplayable, and the full price is rather discouraging even for owners of previous installments. On the other hand, the improved graphics are nice, as is the new content. If you don't already have a piece of this series in your library, then you won't go wrong with the All You Can Eat edition. On the other hand, it's not worth buying if the opposite is true.”

“All in all, Overcooked! All You Can Eat is an absolute must-buy for anybody looking for a fantastic party game to play with friends. The wacky visuals and chaotic gameplay make it an ideal game for local co-op, and there's plenty of content to work through. Across the entire series so far, Team17 and Ghost Town Games have explored a lot of cool ideas via DLC content, and ensured that each expansion had unique theming and gameplay mechanics. Considering that all of this is offered in addition to the stellar base campaign in both games, Overcooked! All You Can Eat really stands as a no-brainer. Overcooked 2 alone is one of the very best local co-op games you can currently buy for the Switch, and if you've been looking for that next game to play when you have friends over, look no further than this. The only downside is that those who have already dipped into either title (or both) won't find a massive amount of new stuff here, outside of the exclusive "Peckish Rises" expansion.”

“Aside from minor mechanical inconsistency across both mainline titles, Overcooked! All You Can Eat is a lovingly-crafted remaster of two lovingly-crafted experiences, complete with their respective DLC packs at a mouthwatering price. There's never been a better way to enjoy the Overcooked! series and all the multiplayer carnage it offers. As a party game it is undeniably better when played with friends so bear that in mind, but for those hungry for some local co-op action, the genre is very much alive and well with this filled-to-the-brim hotpot of cheffing action.”

“The added accessibility options are a much appreciated addition, and they make the package an even more inclusive party game for everyone. However, for veteran players, there may not not be enough new content here to justify double dipping this chip. If this is your first time in the kitchen, however, Overcooked! All You Can Eat is an essential pickup for some fantastic multiplayer action.”

“Overcooked! All You Can Eat is the definitive Overcooked experience. The new campaign, graphical tweaks, online cross-play and accessibility features are most welcome. But they may not be enough to justify a double-dip if you’ve already heavily invested in the previous two games. One suggestion is you could get this and give away your other Overcooked games to a friend or someone that needs cheering up. But it’s up to you. Being that person I was a bit disappointed by this title due to the games performance issues on Switch and the graphical and sound glitches I encountered here and there. This just doesn’t seem to be the celebration of the series it should be. If you have somehow never played the Overcooked series before and have some friends or family to play with this feels like an essential purchase. Let’s hope this is not the last we see of the series.”

“Overcooked! All You Can Eat has never been better than it is on the freshly released consoles. If you’ve yet to play this chaotic, co-op cooking party game then you absolutely should pick this up as you get every serving of previously released content from both games along with some new content and features. As someone who fully completed the prior two games, I must say that while I enjoyed every improvement that was made here, there might not be enough for every veteran to want to jump back into the Onion Kingdom right away.”
