How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

This elastic point-and-click adventure with Sherlock and Watson is a delightful surprise. The creative time-travel mechanics and clever humor make it absolutely worth your money. Crushed In Time doesn’t reach the emotional heights of There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension, and its final chapters strain under puzzle design that can’t quite maintain the earlier consistency, but the studio’s voice is as distinctive as ever, the mechanic is genuinely inventive, and the writing carries the experience even when the puzzles test your patience. For fans of Draw Me A Pixel or the genre at large, it’s an easy yes.

Though not as groundbreaking as its predecessor, and with a gameplay mechanic that never quite justifies its prominence, Crushed In Time is still a funny, entertaining and wonderfully produced adventure through the bowels of game development alongside lovable cartoon versions of Holmes and Watson.

This year, such a release was Crushed in Time, simultaneously reminiscent of classic humorous quests from the LucasArts era and attempting to bring something new to the genre. It's not without its typical quest flaws, but the unique, flexible gameplay and solid humor outweigh these few shortcomings, we can't wait to see what else these developers can come up with.

Crushed In Time manages to breathe new life into the graphic adventure genre with a story rich in mystery and populated by characters that make it full of humour and stylistically appealing. The gameplay mechanics are simple but, thanks to the ‘pull-and-push’ system, they add variety to the gaming experience. The presence of countless puzzles and environmental riddles will make it appealing and challenging for fans of the genre and beyond. All in all… well done, Draw Me A Pixel, mission accomplished!

Crushed In Time is an original and delightfully absurd adventure that keeps its elastic puzzle concept fresh across the whole runtime, thanks to clever ideas, charming characters, strong voice acting, and a playful sense of humor. A few confusing puzzle moments and less comfortable gamepad controls hold it back slightly, but the creativity behind it easily stretches past those flaws.

In the first few minutes of the game, I'm not sure whether the "rubber-band" mechanics in *Crushed in Time* are an innovation or just a way to drag the story out. However, the developers show a lot of creativity and come up with exciting twists that keep me hooked from level to level. I'm actually really enjoying it.

If you like adventure games with a large helping of puzzles and fourth-wall-breaking humour, Crushed In Time delivers in spades. The oddly limited control scheme unfortunately frustrates more than it aids. However, if you can look past that, Crushed In Time has a good amount to recommend for point-and-click adventure game fans.

Crushed In Time is delightfully the stretchiest point-and-click adventure game that I've played. Its fun concept is complemented by a vibrant, time-bending journey, but unclear puzzle solutions could dampen the enjoyment, and the plot might be too thin for story-focused gamers.

Looking at all of the evidence, I don't think it's a stretch to say that Crushed In Time is one of the best point-and-click adventure games, ever.

Crushed In Time is a delightful new style of point & click adventure, making the whole world elastic and taking you, Holmes and Watson on a journey through the travails of game development. There's definitely a game in Draw Me A Pixel's second title, but they'll need your help to finish it.

This time, time travel, cleverly crafted puzzles, and the developers’ signature brand of humor take center stage. But can this spin-off, despite stepping away from the narrative formula that made Wrong Dimension so memorable, remain just as unpredictable and entertaining from beginning to end?

Even after just a few minutes, it was clear to me: Crushed in Time is something truly special once again. Because the elastic gameplay fits wonderfully into a classic Point & Click adventure and enables completely new interaction possibilities with its stretchy twist.
