How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“For a lesser game, hewing too closely to the formula established by other beloved giants of the genre often shines a spotlight on all the ways it pales in comparison. Lego Party tempts fate by being just a few bricks removed from the exact structure of classic Mario Party, but actually walks the walk with its own high-quality supply of intricate boards and delightfully wacky minigames.It also adds some smart features and twists of its own, to the point where I reckon it could soar to even greater heights if it were a degree less beholden to its clear primary influence. Regardless, Lego Party offers one heck of a good time and deserves a spot in your multiplayer party-game rotation.”

“It is easy to fall in love at first glance with Lego Party. It is a game that many have unknowingly been waiting for, and its presentation and first impression are on a whole different level. It feels like a perfect match for anyone seeking an exceptional digital party game. However, once the honeymoon phase is over, all the flaws start to appear, and they become too much. Poor controls, extremely small boards, and a mix of mini-games that feel disjointed make this a challenging title to recommend. It has some wonderful ideas and a solid foundation to build upon, but it falls short in executing the details.”

“My oldest (7 years old) has played countless rounds by himself. We've played tons of rounds together as a family and LEGO Party has been a consistently fun time. I still don't really know what the plot of Ninjago is, but I'm still having a blast playing this virtual board game.”

“In the end, LEGO Party is a solid companion to Mario Party. Its rule customization can reduce some of the genre's randomness, while its minigames provide accessible, straightforward fun despite a few overly difficult or awkwardly controlled entries. The boards offer enough variety that several playthroughs can feel different, even if four boards aren't enough to sustain the game indefinitely. Presentation is strong across the board, and cross-platform play is a welcome addition despite the small online community. For party-game fans looking to spend some time away from the Mushroom Kingdom, LEGO Party is a worthwhile alternative.”

“LEGO Party! is a casual game you can pick up anytime and requires little skill; although some minigames are a bit harder to learn than others.
