How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

Acclaim gate: the raw blend lands at 89.5, but scores above 88 must be earned in front of a mass audience; this verdict rests on 670 player reviews, a largely self-selected fanbase. As more players weigh in, the ceiling rises (full scale unlocks at 100,000 reviews).

Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar is an impressively fun puzzle debut from Abandoned Sheep. Every puzzle was enjoyable and well thought out, with a natural and well-paced evolution of mechanics. Accessibility is a huge focus for the team, as the options for customisation are vast enough that nearly every possible issue someone might have playing this title can be addressed. The characters are charming, and the writing is full of wit and humour. With a super groovy soundtrack, family-friendly atmosphere and the most adorable protagonist, this title is sure to be a hit with puzzle fans of all ages, whether playing solo or couch co-op.

Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar combines a unique and quirky concept with Portal-like puzzle solving, creating brain teasers that are simultaneously challenging and yet unusually forgiving to new players. The game can be played with two players, but it is a completely different experience when you play alone, enticing your brain not only with cooperative puzzles but with the challenge of controlling two cats at the same time.

Schrodinger's Cat Burglar is a charming fusion of the cuteness of Stray and the cerebral puzzling of Portal. It blends those elements seamlessly together into a charming and very accessible package without compromising the thoughtful design of its puzzle rooms. The addition of a local cooperative mode makes it an easy recommendation for any families or couples wanting to spend a few rainy afternoons.

Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar doesn’t revolutionize the puzzle genre or offer a story of such depth to touch some deep philosophical truth, but its playful personality and well-implemented central mechanic makes it a worthwhile pickup for folks who like a good brain teaser.

It’s not just a fun concept - Schrodinger’s Cat Burglar feels good to play. When the cats separate, a pulse shakes your screen and your controller, knocking items off of nearby desks. The sounds, haptics, everything about this world feel immersive, feel like a science experiment gone wrong…or right?

Schrodinger's Cat Burglar is a delightfully clever puzzle game that manages to make quantum physics accessible, hilarious, and genuinely fun. By pairing demanding dual-stick mechanics with a sharp sense of humor and authentic feline charm, it carves out a unique space in the genre. If you are looking for a well-paced, visually clean puzzle game with great mechanics, a fantastic spy-thriller parody tone, and plenty of knocking things off tables, Mittens' quantum heist is well worth your time.
