How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Bud Spencer & Terence Hill, Slaps and Beans 2 is a much nicer, just adequately expanded sequel to the enjoyable beat 'em up, with a clearly defined target audience, two cooperating fans of Italian comedy films. They will have a lot of fun with the game (and a bit of healthy frustration). Solo players will also enjoy it, albeit to a lesser extent, while those unfamiliar with the theme may find much better examples within the genre.”

“While a fairly simplistic affair, Slaps & Beans 2 is an enjoyable slice of beat-’em-up action. Between the love for the source material that pours out of every pixel and the massively entertaining set pieces, Slaps & Beans 2 may not be the deepest offering the genre has to offer, but it’s clear it was never meant to be. Instead, what you get is a history lesson in Bud and Terence’s brand of slapstick comedy and a combat system that’s simple enough to provide hours of fun for the whole family. On that basis, Slaps & Beans 2 is an easy recommendation.”

“Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps and Beans 2 is a tribute to fans of Bud and Terence, whose nostalgia and references to the famous duo provide the necessary quality to conquer a space among indie games focused on the retro pixel art style. The unique characteristics full of humor, associated with the dynamics between protagonists and antagonists, is the difference that signals the game's extravagant personality.”

“Trinity Team takes advantage of the experience accumulated with the first episode and creates a sequel that is richer and more refined in every aspect. Bud Spencer & Terence Hill: Slaps and Beans 2 is a heartfelt homage to a duo who wrote the history of Italian cinema, with music, references and quotes capable of honoring the legend of Carlo Pedersoli and Mario Girotti. In general, we are faced with a solid beat 'em up, varied at the right point thanks also to the presence of numerous minigames, splendid to see as well as to listen to. Between some hitbox problems and sudden spikes in difficulty, there are some rough edges, yet the title has what it takes to intrigue fans of the genre. If Bud and Terence have played an important role in your life, then we can't tell you anything other than: make it yours immediately, otherwise we'll get angry!”

“The dream game for Bud Spencer and Terence Hill' lovers. A classic, fun and easy to play beat 'em up with lots of quotes from the movies and a killer soundtrack. A few minor technical issues in no way alter the gaming experience, which despite the addition of mini-games and Party mode has a somewhat limited longevity.”

“If you’re a fan of the protagonists and their filmography, you’ll enjoy this game a lot. If not, it’s just an average beat ‘em up without many surprises.”
