How this trust score was computed
Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.
Controversy record: on 130 games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, this reviewer sided with players 19 times.

Outlet vs. players
Each dot is a game both this outlet and players scored. The dashed line is perfect agreement: dots above it mean the outlet was more generous than players, below it more harsh.

“Playing The Blood of Dawnwalker is like attending a live rock concert: it's often uncomfortable, the music is sloppy, it's incredibly loud, but the energy and passion knock the walls down. There are numerous technical issues, the execution is far from flawless, many mechanics are poorly refined, the animations often leave much to be desired, and there's a widespread shortage of original assets. On the other hand, Rebel Wolves have staked everything on their historical strengths, on their ability to create unique worlds and develop deeply fleshed-out characters, weaving a web of choices and consequences that pays homage to the great role-playing games of the past, finding the perfect setting for an experience of this genre to shine. A competent, courageous experience, tied to unique gameplay, which unfolds its enormous potential within a framework that is certainly not one for grand occasions, at least not in this pre-launch version. Take it or leave it: the heart of true role-playing games beats in Coen's story, but to perceive it you have to lower the little finger of the form.”

“Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is a gripping adventure, brimming with heart and charisma, bringing to the screen richly fleshed-out characters and a captivating story. A tale expertly told and backed by cutting-edge technology, Asobo Studio has delivered an experience that's unafraid to evolve, while remaining faithful to the style and atmosphere that have made the French team's saga one of the most compelling productions of recent years.”

“The music is equally impressive, and here too, a keen ear can spot more than a few connections to the Firaxis games. It is a shame, however, that there are no nods to John Williams’s score—something I really missed. Star Wars: Zero Company truly exceeded my expectations; I didn't think it would be possible to expand the original formula in this way without betraying its essence. While we can't build our own base here, and the narrative branching offers a slightly more rigid structure, we are only a DLC away from having all of that, too. I can't wait to see what your Zero Company looks like—the appearance of your units and the personality of your key squad. Some will inevitably assemble a team made entirely of droids, while others will scour the galaxy for clones; I am certain that each of these choices will bring with it its own set of unique stories.”

“The audio, on the other hand, is solid, featuring some particularly well-executed rearrangements of the animated series' music. Regarding voice acting, players can choose between English and Japanese; naturally, we opted for the latter, as it is far better suited to capturing the atmosphere of the original work compared to the English version, which struck us as less convincing.”

“The character progression and management are also well-executed and engaging.”

“Despite some rough edges, the combat and the game's core mechanics work well—though the execution of these promising systems occasionally stumbles. Finally, the "Extras" section on the main menu extends the experience; by completing in-game objectives, players can unlock new weapons, powers, and costumes for use in subsequent playthroughs. Along with New Game+, this system adds substance to the post-game and offers tangible reasons to return to the depths of Arkham.”

“The potential of this title crafted by Arc System Works is undeniable: it has everything needed to make its mark on the competitive circuit, while also serving as a benchmark for more casual players who simply want to have fun with their favorite characters in a high-production-value game that, above all else, respects and honors its roots.”

“Beast of Reincarnation is difficult to pin down, as it almost mathematically alternates between perfectly executed aspects and others that are hard to stomach.”

“It can hardly be a coincidence that Final Stand uses the same executable as Company of Heroes 3 for those who already own the base game. It is certainly a treat for the eyes and ears; the gameplay has long since proven itself, and its quality is well-established. But are these the merits of Company of Heroes 3: Final Stand, or those of Company of Heroes 3?”

“Gothic 1 Remake was designed first and foremost for Gothic fans: it is graphically more modern, the quality of life has been improved, but the core elements have remained the same, for better or worse. Our advice is to read the review carefully before deciding whether it is right for you, because in a case like this, the score can be misleading like never before. On our end, we decided to reward the dedication shown in modernizing the still much-beloved original experience, with a work that we consider successful in relation to its target audience. Perhaps it lacks a bit of courage, but hopefully at this point Alkimia can continue their work of reviving the series, and the potential success of this first chapter gives them the necessary confidence to dare more.”

“Vampire Crawlers is the perfect sequel to Vampire Survivors. It completely changes the gameplay, but not the overall experience, which is tied less to the mechanics themselves and more to a gameplay loop that’s genuinely hard to pull away from. Deeper than Vampire Survivors, it offers a more structured and linear sense of progression.”

“To make a striking comparison, for long stretches it felt like we were dealing with a game made by Nintendo , such was the designers' mastery in enhancing a gameplay formula that is basic in itself, yet constantly modified, revisited, and distorted depending on the obstacles and pitfalls introduced.”
“Despite its undeniable merits, bear in mind that CULTIC pulls no punches: it begins in a classic, almost electrifying fashion, only to become increasingly sprawling and diffuse. Its core remains the same, but this split personality is something to seriously consider—especially given the shift in pacing and the resulting frustration caused by the more crowded sections.”

“The new cutscenes—which were originally rendered using the game engine—now feature high-quality computer graphics that make the experience feel far more epic than before. The music remains the same—beautiful as ever—though the tracks have been slightly reworked and mixed in a way that prevents them from truly soaring. This is the exact opposite of the approach taken with the sound effects; in Campaign Evolved, they hit the speakers hard with crystal-clear highs and bass that packs just the right amount of punch. The new voice acting doesn't differ much from that of the original Combat Evolved—at least regarding the excellent Italian version, as the game has been both translated and dubbed into Italian.”

“Making the whole package even more appealing is the budget launch price—decidedly competitive for a fighting game of this quality—which is enough to make it an attractive proposition even for those who simply want to have fun with friends playing as characters from the Avatar universe.”
