How this trust score was computed

Trust blends alignment (40%): does the outlet rank games the way players do; decoded accuracy (30%): after translating the outlet's own scale habits (a '7/10 means mediocre' scale is decoded, not punished), how well its reviews predict player sentiment; and player-side (30%): on games where press consensus and players sharply disagreed, whose side it took. Recent reviews weigh more (2-year half-life), and the blend is shrunk toward a neutral prior (60) so small samples can't peg the scale. Player quality is launch-window Steam sentiment, so outlets aren't punished for reviewing a launch build that later got patched.

It's not Plague Tale, and that's actually a good thing. Resonance is a very action-adventure game with a fun, easy-to-grasp combat system that relies more on proven principles. It's breathtaking in its scenery, acting, and especially in its work with one new monster, thanks to which stealth is also present in this work. It's an explosive exotica that can only be brutally mature in cutscenes, but in terms of gameplay it's more of a Hollywood ride, which in all respects starts to get repetitive quite quickly, while it doesn't fully utilize some interesting systems.

Master Collection Vol. 2 isn't quite the archival collection that this legendary series deserves, but the return of Metal Gear Solid 4 after eighteen years is an event in itself. Guns of the Patriots hasn't aged nearly as much as its hero and is still one of the series' absolute best, while Peace Walker and the unjustly forgotten Ghost Babel are valuable additions to the package. For Metal Gear fans, having these nearly lost gems finally together on modern platforms is a cause for joy that easily outweighs most reservations.

    Gothic 1 RemakeJul 31, 2026

Gothic 1 Remake is precisely the return of a classic that fans hoped for. Alkimia Interactive managed to preserve the original’s unique atmosphere, timeless story, and sense of adventure while dressing it in a beautiful, modern audiovisual presentation. However, the remake fails to mask some of the original's issues alongside its own technical flaws: unbalanced difficulty, tedious backtracking, a weaker final act, and numerous bugs prevent it from being an absolute triumph. Still, it remains a great RPG that will remind veterans why they fell in love with Gothic in the first place, while offering newcomers the best way yet to experience one of the most influential fantasy games of its era.

    Mina the HollowerJul 31, 2026

Though I was initially a bit skeptical, Mina the Hollower turned out to be a confident title. It leverages nostalgia, yet pulls plenty of fresh ideas out of its retro graphics and design. It showcases a world that is a pure joy to explore and uncover stories within. Platforming challenges go hand-in-hand with a tight combat system and a pile of subtle design layers that fit together to create incredibly fun gameplay. With every new area introducing new challenges, the game stays fresh through the credits and beyond. Plus, optional modifiers make it accessible to virtually anyone.

Campaign Evolved is in many ways a successful modernization of a legendary classic that will particularly delight PlayStation owners experiencing it for the first time. Several new mechanics cleverly update a time-tested gameplay loop featuring immensely addictive gunplay, while maintaining its core identity despite the shift to Unreal Engine 5. However, alongside the welcome additions come several controversial decisions, leaving this return to the iconic ring world feeling overly salted in some places and underseasoned in others.

    PalworldJul 31, 2026

Palworld skillfully blends genres, with the creature collecting and upgrading loop easily standing out as the highlight. The chase for the ultimate team to defeat end game bosses is enticing enough to keep you hooked for hundreds of hours. It’s a shame the rest of the game feels more like a supporting act and lacks the same depth or polish. It constantly tries to hide its flaws by pushing something to collect, catch, or upgrade onto your screen every single minute. Ultimately, that's enough to keep you entertained, even if these "Pokémon with guns" could have aimed higher.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight represents the biggest evolution in TT Games' Lego formula to date, seamlessly blending their signature British humor with mechanics inspired by the Batman Arkham series. While held back slightly by weaker stealth elements and classic developer-typical technical bugs, the fantastically detailed Gotham, refined gameplay, and clever tribute to Batman's entire history make this one of the best Lego games ever made.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced breathes new life into a beloved pirate classic. Breathtaking visuals, zero loading screens, and thoughtful gameplay tweaks more than compensate for the weaker new content and lukewarm first impressions of the Animus hub. A must-play for veterans and newcomers alike.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II is a solid turn-based strategy game featuring a well-written story, rich atmosphere, and engaging tactical combat. Its greatest assets are the diverse units, fast-paced gameplay, and distinct campaigns for both the Adeptus Mechanicus and Necrons. Unfortunately, repetitive missions, low map variety, an outdated save system, heavy reliance on RNG, and technical flaws like weak audio and occasional bugs drag down the experience.

    Star FoxJul 31, 2026

A well-crafted remake of a thirty-year-old shooter that retains most of the original design under a modern coat of paint. It possesses undeniable charm, but keep in mind that beneath the hood of this fighter jet beats the very distinct heart of mid-90s gameplay.

A delightful puzzle-platformer that won't melt your brain, nor will it bore you with triviality. A charming, inventive family title straight out of Nintendo's wheelhouse.

Mouse: P.I. for Hire may not have the most brilliant story, nor is it the greatest shooter ever made, but it overflows with ideas. Each level feels distinct, environments change constantly, and the world’s blend of noir and deranged cartoon aesthetics is irresistibly charming, as are the soundtrack and Troy Baker’s delightfully cracked voice acting. Had the gameplay been polished to the same degree, this could have been a crown jewel among shooters. Instead, it remains a slightly rough diamond, yet still one of the most beautiful in the genre.

Vampire Crawlers is a bold experiment. It transforms the automated dopamine rush of Vampire Survivors into card-game form with surprising ease, though it suffers from a slow opening, uneven difficulty balance, and repetitive structure that dilute its strongest qualities. Even so, it remains a highly addictive spin-off that shines brightest whenever it fully embraces its own chaos.

The title of the best Star Trek game in years still ultimately belongs to a merely solid narrative-driven experience, one that alternates between engaging and exhausting scavenging across the Delta Quadrant. Across the Unknown is a sincere and ambitious project, but one frequently held back by its limited budget and draining mechanics.

    Forza Horizon 6May 14, 2026

Forza Horizon 6 does not reinvent its driving formula and remains just as entertaining as its predecessors. Japan, however, proves to be a far better playground, featuring a stronger career structure and more engaging activities, alongside new features such as track creation, garage customization, food delivery missions, and more. It is beautiful to look at, a joy to listen to, and immensely fun to play. It is unfortunate that the constant flood of new cars once again undermines any real sense of progression or accomplishment. Even so, it would not be surprising if this became the most successful, most played, and longest-lasting entry in the series.
