How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Sniper Elite: Resistance is a solid yet unambitious entry in the franchise. It delivers the tactical sniping and stealth gameplay that fans have come to expect, but its heavy reliance on recycled content and lack of innovation prevent it from standing out. For die-hard fans, the game offers enough enjoyment to warrant a playthrough, particularly on sale. However, newcomers or those seeking a groundbreaking experience may be better served by revisiting Sniper Elite 5. Ultimately, Resistance feels like a missed opportunity, a competent but uninspired addition to a beloved series that’s overdue for a true evolution.”

“Nevertheless, it's hard to escape the impression that Sniper Elite: Resistance is one of the laziest games I've encountered in recent times. It's OK, but nothing more than that - it gives the impression of empty sequel, a production in which neither heart nor passion was put. It's a game created at low cost, just to spend something and make money on fans of the series. Yes, you can have fun with it, but at the same time it disappoints on almost every level.”

“Sniper Elite Resistance feels like a slapdash DLC that added seven new maps to the game in the base version. Is that enough? No way. This is an example of how games shouldn't be made. Despite the fact that you'll have a tough time finding new things in the sequel, you have to admit that the gameplay is still fun, and the co-op suits the game. Hopefully, the next installment will be more than just a reskin of what we've already had here.”

“A carbon copy of Sniper Elite 5 - it's hard to shake the feeling that two and a half years later you're replaying a game you never intended to return to. I would really like to see a serious evolution of the series - even the once beloved features like X-Ray no longer grab you because at this point they're kinda boring.”

“Sniper Elite: Resistance is a carbon copy of the previous installment. It offers solid stealth action with an emphasis on realistic shooting and tactics. The story is interesting, even if it doesn’t bring any significant innovations, while the gameplay is fun, varied, and encourages you to play through individual missions over and over again. However, the game is clearly dominated by multiplayer, where it truly shines, because facing off against a real hunter out to claim his prey is what appeals to just about everyone. Plus, you never know who’s who. Unfortunately, while this attempt wasn’t a complete success, it’s still a better game.”

“Sniper Elite: Resistance returns with the tried and tested formula of Sniper Elite 5. While that should be enough to make this a great game, it suffers from some jank here and there that makes it a very good return to Europe, but not a flawless one.”

“There are a handful of minor flaws, the story is disposable, there aren't nearly enough Survival maps, and the graphics engine shows its age in places, but in general the game delivers the goods, both for devotees of the series and for fans of stealth shooting games. Rebellion and Wushu Studios didn't quite score a bullseye, but they hit the target with ease.”

“After so many games, the Sniper Elite series is starting to languish and the next entry needs to show some marked improvement. For now, though, Sniper Elite: Resistance is another fun entry in one of AA gaming’s best champions.”

“Sniper Elite: Resistance is a good game. It is not pushing new ground for the series except in the multiplayer functionality. What Rebellion has made is a solid title that expands carefully on the concepts of the previous game without rocking the boat. An explosive and gut-exploding dose of sniper fun. If this doesn't explode your testicles, nothing will!”

“Rebellion has delivered a solid if not revolutionary game with Sniper Elite: Resistance, the formula still works beautifully, the Propaganda missions bring genuine fresh air to the series, and Harry Hawker is a sympathetic new protagonist, even if he hasn't quite reached Karl Fairburne's level yet.”

“Sniper Elite: Resistance may not bring drastic innovations to the franchise, but it is a clear example of how to refine a successful formula.”
