How this score was computed

The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

The Jackbox Party Pack 10 lacks the broad appeal of other party games, with too many of its games dependent on specific types of players. While it will probably find an audience during holiday vacations, kids on winter break, and so forth, fans who didn't grab this release at launch might consider waiting for the right sale. Meanwhile, new players should check out one of the earlier entries.

Party Packs are nothing if not entertaining, but the tenth instalment only has a couple of titles that you're likely to return to. Some players will enjoy this more than others, but it's hard to recommend it over earlier packs in the series. ‍

Jackbox Party Pack 10 would have been worth a look simply for the celebration of a decade's worth of releases. It would have been worth checking out for the ways it celebrates the legacy of each game that came before it, like the return of Party Pack hosts of yore in Tee K.O. 2's character selection. But even removed from that milestone, Jackbox Party Pack 10 offers a package worth celebrating. The artists at Jackbox continue to deliver some of the best looking and sounding pack games yet, whether it's the stellar graphic design and typeface-focused art style found in FixyText or the epic renditions of songs like Pop Goes the Weasel in Dodo Re Mi. After nearly a decade of work, the Jackbox team shows no signs of stopping and the quality is still there 10 games later. Long live Jackbox Party Pack.

At this point, you know what you’re getting into when you sit down to play a Jackbox game. Even with this concession, however, it’s a bit too easy to find The Jackbox Party Pack 10 lacking. The tunes and aesthetics are great as always and the narrators do an equally decent job but, with the exception of Timejinx, it feels as though every new game has a significant snag that heavily drags it down. Either the novelty wears off after only a few sessions (Dodo Re Mi, FixyText) or the game simply runs on too long (Hypnotorious), and Tee K.O. 2 is exactly what it says on the tin with only minor improvements. With everything accounted for you’re still in for a fun time with friends, but it nevertheless remains a weaker experience compared to previous Jackbox offerings.

A great addition to any games night, with no need for fancy controllers, and enough variety that there is a game for everyone.

Jackbox Party Pack 10 is one of the stronger entries in the Jackbox pantheon, and I'm a big fan of it as a whole. Each game has its own pacing, and while I do think everyone will find their favourites as always, the mix feels very good this time around, and even the trivia game is fun. This is a great party pack that'll be a good addition to any game night. Apart from Dodo Re Mi, I hope those digital birds stay eaten.

Despite some of its flaws, Jackbox Party Pack 10 is a fun game to play with friends and even strangers. Yes, Hypnotorious is a bit of a miss depending on who you are playing with but the other four game modes pick up its slack. Jackbox Party Pack 10 offers a variety of settings to make streamers’ lives easier and improve the game for the community. The price increase after years of a steady price does seem a bit off, but even at $7 a game is fairly priced. If you are looking for a fun party game, then picking up the latest Jackbox Party Pack is a good idea.

The Jackbox Party Pack 10 offers up mostly new games with one returning title. These games are some of Jackbox's best in a while and are sure to leave your party in stitches.

As a whole, Party Pack 10 presents a diverse showing of minigames that can appeal to a wide audience of players. The weaker links like Hypnotorious are easier to overlook thanks to its cohorts like FixyText and Tee K.O. 2, and even the titles that don't quite stick the landing bring some interesting ideas to the table. This is a worthy pickup for party game fans in general, and for longtime fans of the series The Jackbox Party Pack 10 presents a fun blend of new ideas alongside improved-upon old ones.

You’ve got something for everyone (art, writing, trivia, music and psychology) and it scales wonderfully for all age ranges. Jackbox has done fantastic, and I highly recommend grabbing this as a party favor to distract and delight whomever you surround yourself with this holiday season.
