How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“It’s an action RPG at its most basic, with little to make it worth recommending.”

“Sacred 3 is certainly bug free, but it's also free of the core mechanics that made the previous games fun to play.”

“If ARPGs, particularly co-op ones, are your thing then Sacred 3 should definitely be on your to-buy list, but don't expect it to take over your life the way other games in this genre have a tendency to do.”

“For 30 bucks, Sacred 3 is a decent beat 'em up that you and a few friends can have a fun time with if you look past the Sacred name.”

“Sacred 3 is a mildly fulfilling hack and slash game that, while fun in limited doses, isn't a patch on previous entries, and does very little to stand out within the genre in which it wishes to now be housed.”

“Tedium is at the heart of Sacred 3, a successor to the earlier games in the series in name only.”

“If you enjoy hack 'n slash titles and are able to drown out dialogue with some loud upbeat music then Sacred 3 will fill your boots nicely - otherwise, you'll end up facepalming so hard you may inhale your open palm.”

“Sacred 3 has stripped away most of what makes an ARPG great while doubling down on hopes that its silly narrative will be enough to keep you going. This could very easily end up being a guilty pleasure game for a lot of you; however, there's simply not enough here to make it worth a full price purchase.”

“In the end, while fast paced and good for a fitting end to a bad day at work, Sacred 3's gameplay simply lacks everything that makes a great ARPG: Loot, leveling, questing, and a basic (and well-written) story.”

“Overall, Sacred 3 is a fun and rather addictive game to play, even with its slightly repetitive nature. Although it is nothing new and brings nothing particularly mind-blowing or innovative to the table, it still lives up to the phrase "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".”

“Nope. Just nope. Go elsewhere. Sacred 3 offers nothing worth seeing.”

“Sacred 3, as you can establish from this review, is a game that has moved away from its predecessor's roots to become more of a brawler with light RPG elements.”
