How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Press reviews (Metacritic) | – | – | 0 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 92% | 87 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 96% | 90 | 148 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“A crime-sim that’s more vacuum than violence, Cash Cleaner Simulator carves out a fresh niche with its hyper-specific theme and cozy execution. It’s not going to change the genre, but it might change how you feel about a dirty stack of twenties.”

“It's fair to say that Cash Cleaner Simulator isn't afraid to dare, with a game focused on cleaning up dirty money (in every sense of the word). The title attracts attention thanks to its atypical concept, which manages to deliver a pleasant experience for several hours. The artistic direction is a success, both visually and sonically. It's fun, it's relaxing, and there's an almost meditative satisfaction in the act of cleaning money. However, once the novelty wears off, the game shows its limitations. It lacks variety, its narrative is too discreet, and the progression curve quickly stagnates. There's still room for improvement to make the title a complete experience. I recommend the game to fans of the genre who aren't afraid to wait for updates.”

“Cash Cleaner Simulator brings a unique approach to the genre with solid gameplay dynamics, but the storyline lacks depth and the gameplay becomes repetitive over time.”

“Are you too cool for maths, but still yearn to calculate those numbers? Look no further, Cash Cleaner Simulator is here! Of course, there is more to the game than that but my poor brain was stuck at that first hurdle. Cash Cleaner Simulator is, as the title says, a simulator developed by Mind Control Games and first released on PC in 2025. Now available on PS5, we’re going to see if cash cleaning is still a profitable career or if it should have stayed on Steam.”

“Cash Cleaning Simulator is a lot of fun, throwing around piles of cash. Stuffing it into mattresses, knocking over boxes, and spilling thousands of dollars across the floor. My only criticism is that it was too long. If it had been half the length, it would have felt less like a chore towards the end.”

“Cash Cleaner Simulator is an attempt at the simulator genre that revolves around money and packing it. However, there is so much in this genre that it's hard to stick out, and Cash Cleaner doesn't do anything different to stick out in an already dominated landscape.”

“I’d heard a lot of good things about Cash Cleaner Simulator before trying it for myself. And yet, I was still pleasantly surprised with just how much enjoyment I had with it. It’s one of those games you can just boot up whilst listening to a podcast or when you want something a little more chilled out. Despite my issues with the controls, and the occasional repetitive missions, I still had an absolute blast! Therefore, Cash Cleaner Simulator will be getting the Thumb Culture Gold Award!”

“Cash Cleaner Simulator is at its best when it feels like a secret little obsession, the kind of game you boot up for a quick session and then realise has quietly swallowed your evening. It is clever, tactile, and moreish, making a strong first impression. It just does not quite have the legs to evolve that impression into something richer across its full run, leaving it as a good simulator with a great premise, rather than a great simulator full stop.”

“Cash Cleaner Simulator is a fun and interesting game. If you’re looking for the next big simulator game, this very well might be it!”

“Cash Cleaner Simulator is a clever and surprisingly addictive experience. It’s the perfect game to zone out to, thanks to its methodical play. Once you get used to the slightly awkward controls, it is an engaging and enjoyable time. If you’re on PC, I’d say this is the best place to play, as the game seems more suited to mouse and keyboard, despite being controller-friendly. For a very reasonable cost of £16.74 for the base edition of the game, it is well worth your time if you are into a low-pressure and casual sim that is perfect with a podcast or a bit of background music. If you fancy it, you can purchase a copy of the game for Xbox Series X|S HERE.”
