“Big Walk is a game that clearly communicates itself from the title: there is walking, and it takes place on a big island. However, those aren’t the parts of the game that sold me on it. Instead, the puzzles designed around working together in so many different ways are what made me enjoy spending time with the game. Regular unlocks help create a sense of progression as the map and new ways around it unfold, leading up to an excellent final gauntlet. My time with the game wasn’t without its boredom and frustration. Still, I came away remembering the moments of satisfaction at figuring something out and the joyous feeling evoked by the ending.”

“Splatoon Raiders is the Splatoon gameplay experience perfected. While the narrative and visuals take a backseat, and there are moments where it does not feel like a Nintendo Switch 2 game, the emphasis on character work, charm, customization, satisfying combat, and replayability more than make up for these shortcomings. Even if Raiders does not recapture the magic that I felt with the very first Splatoon, if this is the foundation that future entries will build on, then Splatoon 4 is in great hands. ”

The narrative is great, focusing more on the Slayer while being filled with both callbacks to the past and hints towards the future. Further, the new gameplay additions make combat absolutely thrilling, in part thanks to the sizeable post-game and incredible soundtrack. While the level and enemy designs are sometimes lackluster, Revelations further cements The Dark Ages as arguably the best entry in the modern Doom trilogy. ”

“The Adventures of Elliot: Millennium Tales is perhaps the answer to a potential scenario of "What if Square Enix took charge and created a top-down Zelda experience"? I don't mean that in a negative way - quite the contrary, in fact! This is a game that holds its own unique charm that I feel only Team Asano could do, and it re-kindled a sense of nostalgia that I probably haven't felt in more than a decade. If this means we will see more of HD-2D in other genres, or if this opens the door for new remakes, then I'm all in for it.”
