How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 85% | 78 | 182 |

“After several years of stagnation, the Tour de France 2025 looks like an attempt to take some kind of step forward, given the niche nature of the series. However, the ultra-budget pipeline has not gone away.”

“Even though Tour de France 2025 offers no gameplay changes except for modified catering and slightly adjusted menus, it is still probably the most watchable Tour de France of all time for many reasons. This year's Tour de France route offers so many highlights that you simply want to visit the iconic locations yourself. In addition, the Flèche Wallonne, one of the most beautiful routes in professional cycling, can now also be contested as an additional classic. However, the biggest and most compelling argument in favor of Tour de France 2025 is the great new graphics. Never before has the cycling simulation been so realistic, showing its landscapes and riders in such a great light. If you ignore the still rather limited commentary track and the somewhat strange decision to include the original jerseys but not the current squads in the two career modes, Tour de France 2025 is probably the best game in the series, which can now finally catch up with other sports. If they could now move away from the purely menu-based career mode and incorporate a few interactive elements, cycling could finally play at the forefront, even virtually.”

“Tour de France 2025’s sprint finishes are chaotic. Mountain battles are tense and strategic, and even managing a team feels a little more natural. Still, there are some problems with it. AI is still sometimes annoyingly passive, and sound design is still pretty simple. You can juggle energy gels and watch Slovenian monsters go full beast mode, though, if you’ve ever wanted to feel like you’re really in the mind of a cycling strategist.”

“As a complete newcomer, Tour de France 2025 has pleasantly surprised me with its visual splendour and in-depth tactical gameplay. The environments are impressive and the sound is top-notch, creating an immersive experience. However, the riders’ strange faces and the bizarre mix of languages from the spectators lining the route are minor drawbacks. Despite these quirks, the game offers a fascinating introduction to the world of virtual cycling.”

“Despite improvements in controls and graphics, Tour de France 2025 struggles to translate the excitement of cycling into engaging gameplay, with repetitive races, limited strategy, bugs, and removed features like split-screen co-op.”

“Tour de France 2025 is definitely the best cycling game to date. Despite some rigidity, poor accessibility and poor general finishing, the title fully achieves the objective.”

“Even with the major change of the graphics engine to Unreal Engine 5, Tour de France 2025 retains the main characteristics of a more strategic gameplay, gaining points in terms of the realism of the physics of movement and the visuals, which are still below the standards of games in the sports genre for this generation.”

“Tour de France 2025 is the most evolved entry in recent years, thanks to Unreal Engine 5, new gameplay tweaks and a foundation that remains highly addictive for cycling fans. It changes more than other seasons, although some familiar feelings still remain.”

“our De France 2025 is a game that is targeted at hardcore fans of this unique discipline, who will likely close an eye on many shortcomings in the presentation and gameplay departments.”
