How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |

| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 77 | 137 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 79% | 73 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | 73 | 270 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 80% | 74 | 1019 |

“The Crew Motorfest finally brings The Crew series to the top. It's been a long time since I've had this kind of pleasure while playing a racing game. I'm very happy that Ubisoft Ivory Tower has finally found a style they feel great about and are delivering great gameplay and atmosphere. I hope that Motorfest will be expanded over the years and provide us with many great racing adventures in the future.”

“The Crew Motorfest isn't just trying to be a copycat of the rival Forza Horizon series. Thanks to the improved driving model and sound compared to the second game, this is an excellent arcade race that you will be happy to return to. The replacement of the traditional campaign with the playlist mode is also to blame. Thanks to them, you will discover the whole island of O'ahu and also try out most of the fleet.”

“Ubisoft's best attempt at creating their own Forza Horizon. The similarities are obvious but the developers had enough of their own interesting ideas and created one of the best arcade racing games in years.”

“I can finally say it: Forza Horizon has competition, and serious competition at that. The Crew Motorfest came in strong, offering an amazing map paired with highly satisfying gameplay and excellent visual presentation. Ivory Tower has finally hit the sweet spot for its franchise, and I sincerely hope they continue on this path, as the future of The Crew looks incredibly bright.”

“In my review of Forza Horizon 5, I said that, in my opinion, it’s the best racing game out there right now, and that statement still holds true. However, we have a strong competitor here that might one day threaten Microsoft’s series, and even if it doesn’t, we might at least get the chance to compare the two series side by side.TThat is, of course, assuming that in the future, The Crew continues to head in the same direction as The Crew Motorfest, which I reviewed today. In my opinion, this is the right path for the franchise to take going forward. Eight and a half out of ten.”

“A fun arcade racer with lots of variety but one which often confuses and feels decent, rather than brilliant when moving at top speeds.”

“The Crew Motorfest turned out to be a plesant surprise. Driving a firebird through night mist or speeding in a F40 while listening to Blondie stays in your head. Because, ultimately, these small moments are all that matters, and there’s a lot of joy here.”

“With Motorfest, Ubisoft Ivory Tower takes The Crew to the next level. With a beautiful playground and countless ways to interact with it, Motorfest is some of the most fun you can have behind a wheel.”

“The Crew Motorfest is a fun game that gives up its trademark. It presents a huge map of the United States in miniature, compressing everything into a smaller, more detailed map of Hawaii where fun and the variety of activities are its strongest point. ”

“The Crew Motorfest is the epidome of the crew series, with more than 600 vehicles to choose from, a vast open world filled with activities and opportunities to explore and a fresh take on a near perfect story mode with the addition of Playlists, the third entry seems to get things right this time around.”

“The Crew: Motorfest is by far and away the best Crew game yet. Yes, the Forza Horizon comparisons are hard to ignore, but Ubisoft has done a great job of ensuring Motorfest stands tall on its own with a gorgeous world, varied catalogue of events, and general sense of fun.”

“The Crew Motorfest manages to be an incredibly entertaining racing sandbox experience, despite the expected presence of Ubisoft’s monetization and trademark sterility. While some questionable design choices drag the title’s overall quality down a notch, my time in digital Hawaii was largely a memorable and enjoyable one.”
