How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“After some time with Jurassic World Evolution 3, I came away genuinely impressed. It’s not a radical reinvention, but rather a confident evolution of the formula Frontier has been refining for years. The new breeding and juvenile systems give the simulation a sense of life and continuity it was previously missing, and the improved creative tools and locales make building and customising parks more fun than ever.”

“With Jurassic World Evolution 3, the series delivers the perfect evolution of itself. Where the second installment failed by trying to do too much and thinking too big, part 3 delivers exactly what I, as a Jurassic Park fan, have always wanted: a near-perfect simulation that lets me create the park of my dreams. JE3 takes the already great framework of part 1 as its basis and expands it with numerous useful options. Whether it's the grandiose landscaping tool, the detailed customization mode for buildings, or the optimized and simplified controls and menu navigation in many places, Evolution 3 tweaks all the important aspects. The island generator, which allows us to turn an entire island into a park and customize it to our liking, is particularly impressive. The implementation of young animals and the associated possibility of natural breeding is also really great. Combined with the possibilities for DNA modification, this creates the perfect Jurassic Park feeling, because life always finds a way. The selection of game modes is also impressive, from the appealingly staged tutorial-style campaign to the sandbox with almost limitless freedom to the exciting challenge mode with unusual scenarios. Visually and in terms of atmosphere, there is nothing to complain about in Jurassic World Evolution 3, so we can expect an almost perfect dinosaur adventure overall.”
