How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.
| Component | Positive | Quality (0-100) | Weight (pseudo-reviews) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Press reviews (OpenCritic) | – | 79 | 4 |
| All-time Steam reviews | 93% | 88 | 1000 |
| Metacritic user ratings | – | – | 0 |
| Post-patch Steam reviews (trust-weighted) | 99% | 95 | 11 |
| Calibration prior (typical game) | – | 72 | 50 |

“A fair puzzle collection overall, even with the drop off in quality between the two. The mechanics are interesting and the soundtrack is excellent, but the game is brought down by its <2hr length.”

“Despite a couple of blemishes, The FRAMED Collection is a clever and stylish addition to the Switch library. Inevitably, it’s much smoother to play with touch controls, but it’s worth seeing the bold characters and more vibrant set pieces play out on a big TV. A couple of iffy puzzles and a fairly short run time for both games shouldn’t put you off too much, as there are some excellent ideas here and a refreshingly cool overall experience.”

“Overall, even on a system that has a great selection of casual and puzzle games FRAMED Collection absolutely stands out as something special. At all levels from its presentation to its simple and intuitive controls to its consistent creativity it's an experience well worth checking out. Throw in the fact that it is launching with a very reasonable asking price and it is effortless to recommend it as one of the best games of its kind on the system.”

“The Framed Collection is a beautiful experiment in interactivity. The heist-comic book premise permeates every inch of these games from puzzles to story to art. A few puzzles didn't quite land for me, but the tight pacing and variety in complexity kept me engaged until the end that came too soon.”

“If you've already played Framed 1 and 2 on mobile there's not much reason to come back, but if you haven't these are the best versions of the unique and enduring puzzle games.”

“A great little pair of puzzle games here. Nothing new for owners of the iOS and Android versions, but if you don’t already have them, this is definitely worth a play.”

“The Framed Collection might be just another mobile port, but it is one that is right at home on the Switch. You might not spend that much time with the two games included, but you’ll enjoy every scene that you play.”

“A pocket-sized noir adventure filled with genuine charm and challenge that doesn’t really feel all that comfortable on console.”

“Framed Collection is a welcome addition to the Switch eShop. If you've ever played them before there's no real reason to play them again on the Switch as there are only minor changes. For those who haven't, it's terrific fun while it lasts but you'll probably want to play it handheld. A terrific package.”

“Framed Collection is really charismatic thanks to its unique puzzles and exquisite presentation. Although its duration and price can repel certain players.”
