How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“It's a broken, bewildering, shambolic mess, and never speak of it again.”

“I hate to be overtly negative about any videogame, but Road Rage is a classic example of a game that just disappoints on almost every level.”

“I didn't get the point of Road Rage, I have no idea of what the logical goal was for the title.”

“There's no dancing around it: Road Rage is terrible. From the gameplay mechanics to the presentation, nothing is done right, and every moment spent in the game makes you question why you have it in the first place. Unless you're Trophy-hunting, there are much better PS4 titles that are worthy of your time.”

“Road Rage wildly misses the mark of successfully replicating the magic of Road Rash. It's a poorly put together game that has more bugs than an insectarium and contains only a handful of enjoyable moments. The combat, which works better than almost every other Road Rash inspired title I've played, and the soundtrack are the only positives to this turgid, unfinished mess that'll make you Rage Quit rather than Road Rage.”

“The easily outrun and overly simplistic combat is a major blow that Road Rage never manages to recover from. The basic open world design, ugly visuals, and various bugs become harder to tolerate knowing just how deeply unfulfilling the core gameplay is, even when you factor in the budget price tag.”

“Despite its flaws, there is some enjoyment to be had playing Road Rage.”

“Road Rage feels very, very much like a bad Steam game that was plucked from obscurity by an overly-optimistic publisher. It fails on every single level and in the end, it isn't even so bad that it's funny. It's just bad.”

“Road Rage is a game to play only if you care about getting more trophies or gamerscore. It is buggy, and absolutely not worth your time otherwise.”

“Road Rage is like one of those terrible low-budget straight-to-video movies that occupies the shelves of your local supermarket: you know it's rubbish but you can't quite help but be bemused by it.”

“Road Rage feels like an alpha version, a prototype you would show people to get investor funding to make the real game. As I uninstall the Road Rage, I am still left with a Road Rash shaped hole in my gaming heart and a deep disappointment at what Road Rage could have been.”

“Unfortunately Road Rage is a disaster in all its elements. It is a badly designed game, very broken and unplayable in many cases. It tries to cover an alleged open map and a certain freedom of action that is fictitious, when its technical section does not allow it. It is surprising that such a game has managed to go on sale. He does not remember, in anything, the classic that is supposed to pay tribute.”
