How this score was computed
The VGC Score is a weighted blend on a press-comparable 0-100 quality scale. Steam approval rates are first calibrated (95% positive on Steam ≈ 89.5 quality, since Steam approval skews high). Press and tracked creator reviews each count ~2x a player review and share one cap against player evidence (creator buy/skip calls pool into an approval rate, calibrated like Steam approval); all-time sentiment is capped and halved (it's context, not verdict); reviews of the current build carry the most weight when a fresh patch anchors the window; and a 'typical game' prior keeps small samples from pegging the scale. Because press reviews and Metacritic user aggregates describe the launch build, their weight decays as the game ages (3-year half-life after a 1-year grace). That's how a game that launched rough can outgrow its old reception once updates win players over. Reviews under 2h playtime (the refund window), non-Steam activations, and free copies are downweighted.

“Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is simply the best coop experience in years.”

“Warhammer: Vermintide 2 definitely made a good impression. This is a better and more entertaining first-person version of L4D2. The game has taken the best of the first game and refined the earlier slightly clunky mechanics. Compared to its predecessor, there is a great variety of environments and a higher difficulty level. The result is a wonderfully playable work that delivers hundreds of hours of fun for both solo players and a group of friends.”

“Vermintide 2 improves pretty much every aspect of its predecessor, except the one which matters the most, loot variety and vertical progression. Enjoyable in short bursts, but lacks longevity at the moment.”

“Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is good game, nothing more and nothing less. It provides tons of fun and enters the “co-op hall of fame” without looking back. Unfortunately I can’t shake off the feeling that the release was a bit rushed; the game arguably feels more like an Early Access version.”

“Left 4 Dead in the Warhammer: Vermintide 2 universe. It’s an engaging game and has one of the best loot box implementations around. The melee in the game as well is fantastic.”

“Overall, my experience with Vermintide 2 was filled with ratman genocide induced glee, only the occasional matchmaking team-up proving too much to bear with and connections being stable enough, as well to avoid having blows miss or aimed shots wasted.”

“This sequel is a perfect example of building from the first game’s successes while simultaneously focusing on improving where it fell short.”

“An extremely satisfying coop combat game with a very frustrating balance and loot system.”

“After having recently taken Vermintide 2 for a spin during their closed beta any worries that I may have had for the newest edition were put to rest like that latest Slaven horde that came calling for our heroes' blood. Equipped once again with swords, guns, crossbows, hammers and explosives, take control of the group of five heroes as four of them head out into crazy missions with less than friendly odds of survival.”

“Warhammer Vermintide 2 is a grand improvement over End Times expanding upon every aspect of the experience.”

“The core gameplay of the original Vermintide was an incredibly strong formula that was wrapped in a package that didn't live up to the same level of quality. The sequel, Warhammer: Vermintide 2, has clearly taken what was learned from that game to heart and delivered an awfully gleeful gameplay loop. Hop into a match, lop off a few heads, gain experience and gear, and next time, lop off stouter heads while carrying a couple of grims. Vermintide 2 is exemplary of what the genre can become, and it's an especially great reason to grab some friends, sit down, and slay a few thousand foes.”

“A highly accomplished sequel that innovates without losing sight of what made the first one great.”
